Masked gunman robs Ward bank

WARD — A gunman robbed a Centennial Bank branch in Ward just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, a police news release said.

The robber was described as a white man who was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 250 pounds and who was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants and a black ski mask.

He was driving a Chrysler 300 with no license plate, the release said.

The branch was robbed several years ago, said Police Chief Steve Benton.
