Arkansas Index sees increase to 227.36
The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, gained 0.27 to 227.36 on Tuesday.
Tyson Foods rallied 3.2 percent on above-average volume, said Chris Harkins, senior vice president and managing director of Delta Trust Investments Inc. in Little Rock.
P.A.M. Transportation Services fell 4 percent on light volume, Harkins said.
The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Arkansas Democrat-gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
