KATHRYN ASHLEY LAX PHILIP CURTIS SINEATH

Kathryn Ashley Lax and Philip Curtis Sineath exchanged marriage vows at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, in Fellowship Bible Church. Andrew Holbrook of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, N.C., officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Billie and Mike Lax of Little Rock and the granddaugh­ter of Dr. Erwin and the late Barbara Lax, and the late Kathryn Wilson, all of Hot Springs, and the late Billie Mayes of Milpitas, Calif.

Parents of the groom are Alice and B.J. Sineath of Advance, N.C. His grandparen­ts are the late Clara and Linton Sineath Jr. of Greensboro, N.C., and the late Cleo and Harry Browning of Asheville, N.C.

The chancel held a natural branch arch decorated with nosegays of wedding flowers. Music was by pianist Stephen Curry and vocalist Tyler Rosenthal.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an embroidere­d English tulle and lace gown with a sweetheart neckline, Empire waistline and chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of cymbidium orchids, miniature calla lilies, roses and lilies in shades of light pink and blush.

Maid of honor was Lauren Lax of Little Rock, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid­s were Mandy Alexander of Orange, Va.; Ellen Smith of Conway; Lauren Holbrook of Charlotte, N.C.; and Jasmine Calin, Anna Wulsin and Heather Conarroe, all of Davidson, N.C. They wore horizon-blue chiffon dresses with pleated bodices and ruched cummerbund­s. They carried bouquets of light pink tulips with lily grass accents.

Taylor Howard of Huntersvil­le, N.C., was flower girl.

Erich Crowson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Alexander of Orange; Tennant Brastow and Bill Moore, both of Davidson; Patrick Whitman of Washington; Andrew Hathaway of Charlotte; and Jared Lax of Little Rock, brother of the bride.

Guests were seated by Chris Brown of Huntersvil­le and Mike Sharp of Mooresvill­e, N.C.

A reception at the Meyer Pavilion at Pulaski Academy followed the ceremony. Guest tables held wooden lanterns surrounded by rose petals or tall vases of gladiolas. Music was by the Groanups. Assisting were Bettina Lemm and Rachael Newmister, both of Davidson.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Davidson College, where she was a four-year letter winner for the varsity basketball team, a school three-point record holder and a member of the 1,000 Point Club. After the wedding, the bride will work for Campus Outreach at Wingate (N.C.) University.

The groom graduated from Davidson College with a bachelor’s degree in history. He was a four-year member of the football team and a member of Phi Delta Theta. He is campus director of Campus Outreach at Wingate University.

After a honeymoon in Darby, Mont., the couple will live in Wingate.
