Historical society publishes spring issue of journal
CONWAY — The Faulkner County Historical Society announces the publication of the spring issue of Faulkner Facts and Fiddlings.
The journal’s contents include “Stories from the Past,” an interview with “Buz” Heffington by Doris Hutchins; “Professional Baseball in Conway,” by Bill Thomas; “Early Days of a Country Lad,” by Ron Spradlin; “Ed Blair and His Thirteen Women,” by Bill Thomas; and “Prohibition Comes to Conway,” by James Basil Julian, as well as the list of upcoming events at the Faulkner County Museum. Copies of the journal may be purchased for $4 at the Faulkner County Library, 1900 Tyler St. in Conway, and at the Faulkner County Museum on the Courthouse Square in Conway.
The journal’s editor, Vivian Lawson Hogue, invites county residents to submit historically appropriate stories or accounts of people, places, events and other subjects that are pertinent to Faulkner County. Hogue is also soliciting stories about Faulkner County’s armedservices and war veterans for a special issue recognizing Veterans Day to be published in the fall. A publication sponsored by the society, His tor ic Faulkner County: An Illustrated History, by Dr. Roger Pauly, is also available for $35 at the Faulkner County Library.
Anyone may become a member of the society for $15 per year. A membership includes the journal, which is published two times a year. Other types of membership are available.
