DELLA MAE GULMON, age 90, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Little Rock, Ark. She was born on January 19, 1922, in Sanborn, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Gulmon.

Della Mae was the last survivor of seven children. She attended Draughan Business School and graduated with an Associate in Court Reporting. She was a longtime resident of Little Rock. She was employed by State and Federal Court Systems as a Court Reporter for many years. Della Mae was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; and was the last surviving charter member. She enjoyed playing Mexican Dominos with her friends.

Although Della Mae never had children of her own, she was an active part of the lives of her nieces and nephews.

ROBERT JAMES HALL SR., 72, of Little Rock entered into eternal rest September 26, 2012. Born January 6, 1940 to Lillian Luetta Hall and Wilson Hall Sr. of Little Rock, Ark., he was dedicated to Christ at an early age.

Robert is preceded in death by both parents; sister, Maddie Williams; brother, Thearders Hall Sr., and his beloved wife of 53 years, Geneva Hall. Robert was an active member and Deacon at Harris Temple Missionary Baptist Church. As an ambassador of goodwill, Robert provided endless support of varying types to family, friends, and communitie­s at large.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory: son, Robert Hall, Jr. (Delisa); daughters, Valerie Anderson (Steig), Cheryl Nelson (Robert); and her three beloved grandchild­ren, Tanner Nelson, Zhane Nelson, and Gianna Anderson; as well as a host of family and friends.

BETTY LOUISE JENKINS, 68, of Sherwood passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Logan and Ruby Herring Miller. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Johnny Miller. Betty was a member of Jubilee Internatio­nal Church in Maumelle. She was a loving and caring mother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

RUE LYLE “MARTY” MARTIN, 73, of Jacksonvil­le went to Heaven on Friday, September 21, 2012. Marty was born to the late Ralph S. and Mattie G. Crain Martin in Okmulgee, Okla. Marty spent his entire life serving his country he joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1960 and retired in December 1983. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and served his country well. After his retirement he worked at Little Rock AFB, Ark., in the 314 SFS Reports and Analysis until he retired in July 2003.

He is survived by wife, Sunee Martin; daughter, Melinda Barnes (Gregory); two grandchild­ren, Andrew and Jason Barnes; two sisters, Marcia Brown (John) and Nancy Perea (Rocky) ; and a host of other family and friends. Marty will be missed by all who knew and loved him. “Daddy I loved you too much to.”

HELEN FREDENE MOSELEY, age 92, died September 26, 2012, at Parkway Health Center in Little Rock. She was born October 16, 1919, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Helen Margaret Woodson and Guy Fred Moseley. The family soon moved to Forrest City where Fredene’s brother Guy was born in 1921.

Fredene attended Ouachita Baptist College and studied art, which became her passion and her vocation. Traveling to Florida each winter with her parents, she was able to continue her studies with various artists and perfect her own style. Fredene later became an art teacher and for many years enjoyed teaching in the studio behind her home. Her artistic talent also extended to the creation of beautiful porcelains. She was equally gifted as a musician and enjoyed music all her life. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Forrest City and was active there in her younger years.

Fredene cared for both her parents through long illnesses without complaint and following their deaths, she enjoyed several years of travel. In 2001 she moved to Little Rock to be near her family. She continued painting and drawing and also participat­ed in the Arkansas Children’s Hospital program to knit hats for preemie infants. As her health declined she moved to Parkway Health Center.

She is survived by her brother , Guy Woodson Moseley and his wife Sara, and by two nieces and their families: Mary Ann and Jay Critz of Little Rock and Susie and Phil Farris of Batesville, Ark. Her great-nieces are Susan Critz Guthrie and Paul of Louisville, Ky., Margaret Critz, Sara Farris, Catherine Critz Snyder and John, all of little Rock, Elizabeth Farris Bumpers and Fuller of Batesville, Lucy Farris Thompson and Paul of Little Rock, and Miranda Critz Greear and Fred of Williamsbu­rg, Va. Great-great nieces and nephews are Eva Myrick and Anna Woodson Guthrie, Tasha Bryan, John McDonald and William Augustus Snyder, Susan Moseley, Elizabeth Grey, and Mary Farris Bumpers, Andrew McCord and Sara Katherine Thompson and Molly Catherine Greear.

"Sissie” was a very loving and fun aunt. Summer vacations were packed with fun for her nieces and their friends. She so loved Forrest City and held it close to her heart until the day she died.

JANET M. SHRADER-PERRIGAN of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord September 26, 2012. She was born June 15, 1951, the daughter of the late L.J. (Bud) Shrader and Helen M. Shrader. She was a 1969 graduate of Jacksonvil­le High School, attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and was retired from the residentia­l constructi­on business.

Often referred to by those who loved her most as the “Queen of Everything,” Janet was the family matriarch, devoting her life completely to caring for her family and friends with a deep dedication to serving others. She never met a stranger, as she shared her kindness and vibrant spirit with her family, community and church. She was actively involved in Common Ground Ministry in Jacksonvil­le, Arkansas and was deeply devoted to serving her Lord. Always there with a kind word, an unforgetta­ble laugh, and a big heart, Janet was the life of the party. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and devoted family.

IRA LEE SOUTHERLAN­D, 85, of Jacksonvil­le went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Ira was born in Jacksonvil­le to the late Joseph Marion and Hazel Hall Southerlan­d. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.

Ira was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and member of the American Legion. Ira retired as Sales Rep for commercial equipment. Ira enjoyed fishing and John Deere tractors. He will be missed by all who knew him.

HENRYANNA TATE, 101, formerly of West Point, Ark., passed away peacefully Saturday. She is survived by a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. GLEN VIRGIL WINKLE of Little Rock, born in Gage County, Nebraska, January 23, 1924 passed away on September 27, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Glen was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving in both the Navy and the Army. He was a retired electricia­n and an all around handyman who could fix anything around the house. He could also cook all the fish he and his friends caught in Lake Conway where he lived for many years. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick W. and Ella Rose Coonley Winkle; first wife (our mother), Myrtle John Nichols Winkle; second wife, Lenore Jo Behnke Winkle; brother, Gale Winkle and sister, Velma Slot. CONWAY — Joyce L. Chronister, 63, died of complicati­ons from cancer Thursday, September 20, at her home in the arms of her family and friends. She was born at home November 29, 1948, in Alton, Missouri to the late Richard Vernon Chronister and Lela Parrott Chronister. Her maternal grandmothe­r, Nora Elizabeth Parrott, was midwife for her birth. Joyce graduated with a master’s degree in special education from the University of Central Arkansas. She found that she had a passion for working with children with special needs. She worked at the Conway Human Developmen­t Center, Warren Developmen­t Center, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she worked for several public schools with children with special needs. A memorial celebratio­n of JO’s life will be held October 13 at 3 p.m. at 31 Crappie Lane in Conway. CONWAY — David William Kennedy, 83, joined his heavenly Father Sept. 24, 2012, in Conway, Arkansas. David was born May 18, 1929, in Matheson, Colorado to Virgil O. and Ethel R. Kennedy.

He graduated from Winfield High School (Kansas) in 1947. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 serving five years. During that time he served 18 months at the U.S. Naval Air Station on Guam during the Korean War.

On April 28, 1950, David married the love of his life, Regina Diane Heath. He became a registered architect in 1971, one of only three men to have ever done so without a college degree scoring the top score on five of seven tests. He became a partner with the successful architectu­ral firm, Roark, Perkins and Kennedy in Little Rock.

He served on the American Arbitratio­n Associatio­n and was president of the Constructi­on Specificat­ions Institute. He participat­ed in programs with the Built-Up Roofing Systems Institute. He received the Arkansas State Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers recognitio­n as Emeritus Architect in 2011.

He participat­ed actively in Boy Scouts of America, from 1962 to 1968, helping boys improve their lives through scouting principles and activities.

David was a member of Markham United Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees and programs. He was a chairman of the Building Committee and supervised the building of the original building of Markham Methodist Church in the 1960s. He was a member of Priscilla and Aquila Sunday school class. He held Sunday school teachers in high esteem after teaching a class one Sunday, noting that teaching the lesson was one of the hardest things he had ever done.

After retirement, David moved to Conway and lived on Lake Beaverfork where he enjoyed constructi­on additions to his home and built an enormous china cabinet, which his wife dearly loved. He was a do-it-yourself person and was always busy working on some kind of projects. He enjoyed fishing when he could and was an avid reader of newspapers.

David was a fantastic husband for 62 years, helped raise his four sons, was dearly loved by many relatives, friends and neighbors and was the type of person who made the world a better place.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Jean Bradford, and his grandson, Nicholas David Kennedy. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane, his four sons; Robert Loren Kennedy, Kyle Gregory Kennedy (Linda), Joel Edward Kennedy, and Jon David Kennedy (Kathryn), siblings; Laura Bost (Al), Bob Kennedy (Rocky), Linda Sue Crabb (Rick), Kenneth Bradford, grandchild­ren; Katrisha Dawn Kennedy, Krystal LaShay Kennedy, Kara Alexie Kennedy, Kyla Danielle Kennedy, Mary Kathryn Kennedy, and Jack William Kennedy, and two great-granddaugh­ters, Isabelle and Julianna Osorio.

CONWAY — Sarah Beth White Ruckle, 36, of Conway passed from this life on September 25, 2012. She was born on September 14, 1976 to Linda Bryant and Fred Rogers. HIGGINSON — Shelby Fay Dawkins, age 76, died at her home in Higginson Wednesday, September 26, 2012. She was born February 9, 1936, the daughter of Stillman and Eva Pearson Hollingswo­rth, in Pickens County, Alabama. Mrs. Dawkins was the widow of Clyde Dawkins and a member of the Higginson Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Jerry Dawkins, and a brother, Jerry Hollingswo­rth. Surviving are sons: Terry Dawkins and his wife Jennifer, David Dawkins of Searcy; and a daughter: Eva Boyles and her husband Roger of Higginson. PARKIN — Keith Hickman, 94, of Parkin, Arkansas, died September 26, 2012, at his home. Mr. Hickman was a deacon at Parkin First Baptist Church and a member the Lions Club, 32nd degree Mason, Past Fire Chief Parkin Fire Department and a SGT. in the Army during WWII.

He is survived by one son; David Hickman of Parkin, Ark.; two daughters, Kay Hickman Smith of Grays Lake, Ill., and Clara Jo Hickman Marotti of Branson, Mo.; five grandchild­ren, Don Hickman, David Hickman II, Kimberly Bernardi, Jennifer Jennings and Joshua Marotti; three great-grandchild­ren, Alex Hickman, Ashtan Hickman and Christophe­r Bernard; and one brother, Berl Hickman. Mr. Hickman is preceded in death by his wife, Linnie Hickman.

PIGGOTT — Mrs. Tica Robinson Camp of Piggott, Ark., passed away on Sept. 25, 2012, at the age of 84 years. She was born on August 16, 1928, in Knobel, Ark., to the late Loren D. Robinson and Mildred W. Robinson. She was united in marriage to Gus R. Camp on Nov. 22, 1949.

She is survived by her four children, Pamela Camp Parrent, children, Melissa and Ryan Parrent, Charles Robinson Camp, his wife, Allison, and children, Brad and Alisha Camp, Cynthia Camp Cathey and children, Anna and Sara Cathey, and Christophe­r Lee Camp and wife, Tamara, and children, Lee Camp and Catherine and Reece Crawford; three sisters, Ruth Durham of Norton, Kan., Paula Hollis of Jonesboro, Ark., and Amanda Lane of Searcy, Ark.; and one brother, John Robinson of Springfiel­d, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Piggott, Ark. Her passion was in teaching. She loved her profession and was always trying to help a student learn and encourage them to attend college. She never met a stranger and lived her life to the fullest each day caring for others.

PINE BLUFF — Rebecca Jane Sherman Watson went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Born April 13, 1947, in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of E.T. “Pete” Sherman of Albion, Pa., and Nellie Samuel Page Sherman, originally of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Beckie was a graduate of Northweste­rn High School (1965) in Albion, Pa., and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphi­a, Ark. She received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Ouachita on May 30, 1969, and the following day, June 1, 1969, married James Watson at the Elliott Baptist Church in Camden, Ark.

James and Beckie were blessed by the birth of a daughter, Heverin Joy, on Beckie’s birthday in 1977, and blessed a second time with the birth of a son, Jonathan Edward, on July 13, 1982. They were blessed many more times throughout their 43 years of marriage to include others as part of their extended family as well.

A celebratio­n of Beckie’s life will be held at Greenlee Memorial Baptist Church, 4901 Old Warren Rd., Pine Bluff, Ark. at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

A memorial service will be held later in Pennsylvan­ia.
