Realtors responsible for more than buying, selling property

-

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I’m always a little more aware of my blessings during this time of year.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m always thankful. But there’s something about the holidays that makes me a little more sensitive of just how lucky I am. With that in mind, I wanted to point out how thankful we Arkansans should be to have Realtors working for us every day.

Realtors spend every day helping make the homeownership dreams of homebuyers come true. They spend countless hours doing research to find the perfect home that will fit their clients’ needs.

Each year, Realtors continue their real estate education to make sure they are on top of their game and can exceed consumers’ expectations. They abide by a code of ethics to ensure that everyone involved in all real estate transactions are treated equally and fairly.

Realtors help people everyday to make investments in the future. They do their absolute best to make such a big moment in your life as easy and worry-free as possible.

Buying a home or other real estate property is more than just signing a contract. It involves loans, taxes, negotiations and much more behind-the-scenes action. Realtors must coordinate with home inspectors, appraisers, and title and escrow companies as well. There’s no possible way I could list all of the things that Realtors do to complete the buying and selling processes. But that’s not all they’re doing. Arkansas Realtors are also working with state and national officials to make sure that obtaining loans and receiving fair taxations and tax benefits is still achievable.

Arkansas Realtors are fighting for the American dream of homeownership and for our current and potential private property rights. Backed by the Arkansas Realtors Association’s legislative committee, Arkansas Realtors have made efforts to fuel, stabilize and reinforce the local and national real estate market.

Realtors from across the nation made a trip to Washington, D.C., this year to show our nation’s leaders that homeownership and commercial real estate investment not only matter, but are vital to the short- and long-term well-being of our country.

Realtors don’t just sell real estate. Realtors are working every day to make it possible for people like me and you to be able to invest in our futures. And for that, I am very thankful.
