DOROTHY JEAN REED ABRAHAM departed this life on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Robert “Teeny” Abraham. THELMA P. BERRY, age 89, of Jacksonvil­le passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in Jacksonvil­le. She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Moultrie, Ga., to the late John and Georgia Horne Powell. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her husband, John Warren Berry, in 2005. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Ed Berry, both of Jacksonvil­le; three grandchild­ren: three great-grandchild­ren; four brothers and one sister. MARY ELLEN BRAY, 90, of North Little Rock (formerly of Urbana, Ill.), passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bray; parents, three brothers, one sister, and one great-granddaugh­ter. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Dorsey of North Little Rock; daughter and son-inlaw, Carol and Neal Hall of Champaign, Ill.; grandchild­ren, Britt McLeod, Joe Dorsey, Leanna Hannibal, Cory Hall and Mark Dorsey and eight great-grandchild­ren. CHRISTOPHE­R ALAN COLE, 50, of Little Rock and Hot Springs, died Jan. 6, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparen­ts, Noie and Shirley Jeffries, well as paternal grandparen­ts, Ray and Ruth Cole, all of Hot Springs. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Kathryn and Joe Walker of Little Rock, and his father, Bill Cole, and wife Darlene of Fort Meyers, Fla. He is also survived by his two brothers, Troy Cole and wife Teddi of Little Rock, and David Cole of Hot Springs. Chris is also survived by two step-brothers and a step-sister, Doak and Duke Walker and Shea Walker Siler, all of Little Rock. Chris was a 1981 graduate of McClellan High School in Little Rock and attended UALR. He moved to Hot Springs in 1996 and was employed with Oaklawn Race Track. A special thanks to the staff of Arkansas Hospice at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

COLETTE EMELENE DOWNEY FROST, age 91, of Jacksonvil­le, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. She was born Nov. 8, 1921, to the late Clifton John Downey and Cora Frances Lucille Fonner Downey in Newman, Ill. She was a faithful member of New Testament Church in Jacksonvil­le, Ark., and a loving and caring mother and grandmothe­r.

She is survived by her children, Toni Young and her husband Timothy, John Frost and his wife Tanya; step-children, Cheryl Warren, Charles P. Frost; eight grandchild­ren, nine great-grandchild­ren, four great-great-grandchild­ren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Pastor DAVID EDWARD HARRIS, 64, of Little Rock went to be with his Lord on Jan. 1, 2013. He was born on July 18, 1948, to Leo and Mary Harris in Little Rock, Ark. David was a very devoted and loving husband, son, father and grandfathe­r. He dedicated his life to helping and mentoring others; he truly had a servant’s heart. Pastor Harris was the pastor for 36 years of Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was an avid sports fan and loved listening to music.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Harris, and his beautiful granddaugh­ter, Maci Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Christine Harris; father, Leo Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Shannan Harris; daughter, Beth Harris; four grandchild­ren, Caleb Harris, Kelsy Dement, Mekenna Dement and Kori Dement; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Peggy Harris; and a host of family, church family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

MACI LEIGHANN HARRIS, 10, of Otter Creek went to be with her Lord on Jan. 2, 2013. She was a very outgoing and active young lady. Maci loved going to church at Oak Park Baptist Church, where she was very involved with the GMA girls ministry; she also enjoyed playing tennis and riding horses. She was a very loving sister, daughter, granddaugh­ter and friend. She attended Otter Creek Elementary School.

Maci is preceded in death by her grandfathe­r, Pastor David Harris. She is survived by her loving parents, Paul and Shannan Harris; brother, Caleb Harris; three sisters, Kelsy, Kori and Mekenna Dement; grandmothe­rs, Christine Harris and Barbara Chandler; grandfathe­r, Richard Teeters; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.

JAMES W. “POP” SMITH, 77, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Preston Smith and Kathryn Isabel Hastings Smith; brother, Robert Bernard Smith; daughter-in-law, Debra Smith. Pop was a member of Abu Ben Adhem Lodge in Carthage, Mo. He will be remembered for mentoring a generation of North Little Rock youth. Pop was known for opening his home to kids and friends and enjoying their company.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta “Retta” Johnston Smith; sons, Randy Smith of North Little Rock; Marty Smith (Susan) of North Little Rock; daughters, Becki Cleveland (Michael) of Maumelle and Lori B. Wolfe (Mark) of Spring, Texas; grandchild­ren, Jamie Leonard (Brian), Kimberly McConniel (Trae), Jennifer Smith and Katie Gatrell. He is also survived by twin brother J. Wayne Smith (Mary Jo) of Independen­ce, Mo.; and special friend, Brian Scott (Martha) and their son, Bryson.

VILLA TURLEY, 100, of Little Rock, passed away Jan. 5, 2013. She was born in Bee Branch, Ark., on April 15, 1912, to Forest and Donna (Loftis) Robertson. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Little Rock.

She is survived by her son, Charles R. Turley (Joyce) of Benton; daughter, Helen Duke-Permenter (Bill) of Little Rock; brother, Adron Robertson of Oklahoma; sister, Jessie Womack of Pine Bluff; nine grandchild­ren and a host of greatgrand­children and great-greatgrand­children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pink Turley; daughter, Norma Jean Black; son, Jimmy Lee Turley; grandson, Ralph Seales; two brothers and two sisters.
