Bystander drives victim to hospital

A Little Rock woman rushed a 19-year-old man to the hospital Monday afternoon after she heard a gunshot and saw him fall out of a vehicle, according to a police report.

Cheryl Anderson was sitting in the park at 9100 Tall Timber Blvd. between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m. when she heard a gunshot and saw a man, later identified as Deondre Payne, stumble out of a vehicle and fall to the ground, a Little Rock police report said.

Payne of Little Rock had a gunshot wound in his chest and kept losing consciousn­ess, police said. Anderson put Payne in her car and took him to a hospital, the report states.

The woman described the vehicle Payne fell out of as a white Honda Crossover.

Additional informatio­n on the shooting was not available Tuesday night.
