House speaker to lecture in LR
State Rep. Davy Carter, the first Republican speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives since the Reconstruction era, will lecture Friday about legislative issues expected to be addressed during the 89th session of the Arkansas General Assembly. The lecture will be at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock.
The legislative session begins Monday.
Carter, a lawyer from Cabot, has represented District 48 in the Arkansas House since 2009. He has served on numerous legislative committees, including as chairman of the House Revenue and Taxation Committee.
