Voices From the Past for the Future

BENTON — The Ralph Bunche Neighborho­od Associatio­n will present the play Voices From

the Past for the Future at 3 p.m. at 1600 Dixie St. The play presents African-American history with re-enactments from key figures. The production will feature a dessert reception. Opera Week

HOT SPRINGS — Opera Classics, part of the Four Seasons in Art and Song concert series, will be at 7 p.m. today at Anthony Chapel in Garvan Woodland Gardens. The concert marks the beginning of The Muses Opera Week, which will culminate Saturday with an opera gala presentati­on of The Marriage of Figaro to celebrate the grand opening of The Muses Cultural Arts Center. Opera gala patron tickets are $200, and gala donor tickets are $100. A preview performanc­e of the opera will be held Friday at a donor ticket cost of $50. HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas School for Mathematic­s, Sciences and the Arts will hold its seventh annual ASMSA Golf Classic fundraiser at 9 a.m. at the Glenwood Country Club to celebrate 20 years of academic excellence at ASMSA. Temporary Meal Site

BENTON — The Central Arkansas Developmen­t Council Benton Senior Wellness and Activity Center will sponsor a temporary meal site at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and Sept. 26; and Oct. 4, 10, 17, 24 and 31 at the Johnson Street Church of Christ, 101 Johnson St. The site will serve the Ralph Bunche community and is open to the public. Suggested donations for the meals are $2.50 for people 60 and older, and $6 for people younger than 60. September Art Exhibit

HOT SPRINGS — Garvan Woodland Gardens’ September art exhibit is Brush Strokes, works from an art club of that name headquarte­red in Hot Springs Village. The exhibit, slated for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily during September, will feature 40 of the club’s artists with works that include watercolor­s, oils, pastels and mixed mediums.
