6-2A MARVELL 22, PALESTINE-WHEATLEY 12

MARVELL — Quarterbac­k William Harris ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns as Marvell snapped the state’s longest losing streak, 34 games, with the victory over Palestine-Wheatley.

Marvell (1-9, 1-6 6-2A) hadn’t won since beating Hughes, a now-defunct program, 26-6 on Oct. 1, 2010. Jarred Murphy also ran for a 3-yard touchdown for the Mustangs.

8-2A RISON 41, HAMPTON 33

RISON — Rison (7-3, 5-2 8-2A) beat Hampton (2-8, 1-7) behind the efforts of Nathan Wilson, Zuntario Oliver and Cortez Phillips, who scored all of the Wildcats’ points.

3-2A EAST POINSETT COUNTY 46, MARKED TREE 6

LEPANTO — East Poinsett County (100, 7-0 5-2A) stayed perfect and rushed for 321 yards in its victory over Marked Tree (6-4, 4-3).

Quarterbac­k Aaron Scales put the Warriors on the board with 1:14 left in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run, then threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to his brother Byron Scales with 8:00 left in the second quarter.

A different pair of brothers took over from there. Tristan McDaniel scored on a 3-yard run late in the second quarter, and midway through the third quarter Trevor McDaniel scored on a 14-yard run. Trevor McDaniel added another touchdown run with 9:10 left in the fourth quarter.

Trevor McDaniel finished the game with 175 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries. Tristan McDaniel finished with 74 yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 carries.

Marked Tree scored once in the third quarter and was held to 121 rushing yards and 85 passing yards.

5-2A CONWAY CHRISTIAN 48, BIGELOW 21

BIGELOW — Quarterbac­k Chandler Ferrand rushed for more than 280 yards and accounted for four touchdowns to lead Conway Christian (5-5, 4-3) to a 5-2A victory over Bigelow (4-6, 4-3).

Ferrand rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another two scores, finishing with more than 400 yards total offense.

Ferrand’s touchdown passes went to Byron Pascoe and Andrew Steely, who also rushed for two touchdowns and 125 yards on the night.

CUTTER MORNING STAR 27, MAGNET COVE 20

HOT SPRINGS — Austin Morphew returned an intercepti­on 70 yards for Cutter Morning Star’s first score and 19 yards for a third-quarter touchdown on senior night as the Eagles (7-3, 5-2) claimed the No. 3 seed from the 5-2A.

Spencer May sneaked 1 yard and Jesse Teague returned an intercepti­on 38 yards for second-quarter touchdowns for the Eagles, with May passing to Morphew for a two-point conversion and Sean Moore kicking an extra point.

Magnet Cove (7-2-1, 6-1), which had won six in a row, made it close on touchdown runs of 5 yards and 1 yard by Adam Davidson but fumbled at the Cutter Morning Star 24 with 3:30 remaining, with senior lineman Zac Walters recovering for the Eagles.

May ran for 90 yards and passed for 22. Davidson had 164 yards rushing for Magnet Cove, which led 7-6 in the second quarter after Jared Stanley’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Clements and Jay Kelley’s extra point.

7-2A DIERKS 61, MURFREESBO­RO 14

MURFREESBO­RO — Sophomore tailback Trendon McKinney ran 24 times for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Dierks (10-0, 6-0 7-2A) complete a perfect regular season with a victory over Murfreesbo­ro.

Senior quarterbac­k Adam Bradshaw completed 6 of 12 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior tight end Andrew Sirmon caught 3 passes for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Dierks finished with 351 rushing yards.

GURDON 41, FOREMAN 7

GURDON — Dewayne Marlow ran for two touchdowns and quarterbac­k Austin Kirkpatric­k added two more as Gurdon (91, 5-1 7-2A) defeated Foreman (2-8, 1-5).

Gurdon scored four touchdowns in the second quarter and led 35-0 going into halftime.

Kirkpatric­k also threw for a touchdown to Christ Accor.
