Police: Man stole auto at gas station

A man accused of stealing a vehicle from a gas station was arrested Friday, according to an arrest report.

Winfred Lavelle, 46, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property, attempt to influence a public servant and public intoxication.

He was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he was awaiting a bail hearing.

About 2:10 p.m., a man took a vehicle at knife point at the Shell gas station in the 700 block of East Ninth Street, police said. The victim later identified Lavelle, whom officers found blocks away, as the man who took the vehicle, police said.
