LR Christian ends season with shutout

Senior Houston Angel ran for a touchdown and passed for another as Little Rock Christian closed the season with a 35-0 victory over Little Rock McClellan (1-9, 1-6) on Friday night.

Angel scored on a 13-yard run in the second quarter as Little Rock Christian (46, 2-5) took a 21-0 halftime lead. He added a 9-yard scoring pass to Beaux Peck in the third quarter.

Nick Worden, another senior, started the scoring with a 27-yard intercepti­on return for a touchdown It was the second of three intercepti­ons for the Warriors. Sophomore Jack Lee had the other two.

“I was really happy for our seniors,” said Little Rock Christian Coach Jeff Weaver. “We really wanted to send them out with a win and our seniors made the plays tonight and that was really exciting.”

Junior Hunter McFarlane, who had 67 yards rushing on 18 carries, gave Little Rock Christian the lead when he scored with 7:01 left in the first quarter.
