Jones runs wild for Woodlawn
RISON — Junior Jeffrey Jones ran 41 times for 487 yards and scored 9 touchdowns in Woodlawn’s record-setting 72-52 victory over Hermitage (1-9, 0-6 8-2A).
Jones set school records for rushing yards and TDs. The Bears (2-6, 2-5) rushed for a school-record 723 yards.
Jones finished with 1,499 rushing yards this fall and 18 touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass and had 237 yards in kickoff returns.
Woodlawn missed the playoffs after losing 8-6 to Parkers Chapel on Nov. 1. Zach Branch was promoted in the offseason after Ray Sessions left to become an assistant at Little Rock McClellan.
