JAMIE BRIANNE DEE BLAKE ANDERSON CLIFTON
Jamie Brianne Dee and Blake Anderson Clifton exchanged marriage vows at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2., on the beach at the Hotel Laguna, Laguna Beach, Calif. Christian Baker officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Patricia and Glen Brown of Montague, Calif., and Richard Dee of Tustin, Calif. Her grandparents are Misao Sakamoto Russ of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Betty Dee of Tustin.
The groom is the son of San-Dee and Dr. Cliff Clifton of Little Rock.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless organza gown with a pleated sweetheart bodice embellished with beading at the waist. The full ruffled organza skirt extended to a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of white cabbage roses and white hydrangeas.
Stacey Dee of Tustin served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Michele Moore of Los Angeles and Jenna Babcock Dee of San Louis Obispo, Calif. They wore black lace-embellished gowns in the style of their choice with Tiffany blue shawls. They carried bouquets of white roses and hydrangeas.
Kyle Clifton of Washington, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Paul Leggett of New York and Sean Dee of San Louis Obispo, brother of the bride.
A reception at the hotel followed the ceremony. Tables were decorated with clusters of clear glass and milk glass vases with flowers made from the lace of the mother of the groom’s wedding dress.
The bride, a dancer, received her training at Orange County Regional Ballet. After receiving the California Alliance for Arts Education’s 2000 Emerging Young Artist Award, she joined the American Repertory Ballet in New Jersey, where she spent two seasons. She accompanied Nai Ni Chen Dance Company on its 2002 China tour and danced for seven years with Ballet Met Columbus, where she received the 2008 Violetta Boft Award. She is currently a principal dancer at the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
The groom is a graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., and has a bachelor’s degree in English and concentration in applied mathematics. He was a member of the tennis team. He received a master’s degree in business administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He’s a board member of Street Soccer USA and Community School of the Arts, and is employed by Wells Fargo Securities Technology Investment Banking Group.
After a honeymoon in Brevard, N.C., the couple will live in Charlotte, N.C.
