Short is the new go-to ’do, but which star wears it best?

- JENNIFER CHRISTMAN

It seems some pixie dust has been sprinkled around show business.

Several stars are suddenly sporting short pixie haircuts, joining others who have decided to lose their locks — Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and Miley Cyrus (in Miley’s case, she decided to lose her clothes too).

The latest sisters pledging Kappa Upsilon Tau or KUT, the short-hair sisterhood, are Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, and — most shocking — Pamela Anderson.

We’re going to decide: Who snipped and clipped the best? Jennifer Hudson Singer, actress and Weight Watchers representative Jennifer Hudson just lost a few more pounds … of hair. The 32-year-old debuted the the dramatic makeover at the recent BET Black Girls Rock! event, preceding it with a reveal on Istagram (instagram. com/p/f9TZK6OEqa/#)

It was a hit with several fans.

One posted: “loooooooooove the hair!”

Another posted: “I looooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooove!!…Yo HAIR!!

We l l , don ’t get toooooooooo excited, friends. The last time she went short — with a chin-length bob at the MTV Video Music Awards in August— she quickly returned to the lengthy flowing tresses, making us conclude she was possibly wearing wigs.

So we’re not wigging out about this development until we know it’s permanent. Kristin Chenoweth Whittling off her blond waves (helped by extensions), the pixie Broadway veteran now has a pixie cut to match her stature, she revealed in a photo posted online (see tinyurl.com/n7fjq55) the same week as Jennifer Hudson.

But it was another Jennifer who inspired the change. The chirpy Chenoweth told People that during “girl talk” with her The Boy Next Door co-star, Jennifer Lopez suggested Chenoweth try the bold hairstyle.

Meanwhile Lopez still safely maintains her long, magnificent mane (and whoever else’s strands that are blended in) on her head.

Reception to Chenoweth’s chop has been positive.

“Wickedly stunning,” tweeted Perez Hilton.

“LOVE IT!!!! You’d look gorgeous with any haircut!!” tweeted singer and fellow pixie-ite Kellie Pickler.

Only one fan didn’t feel the love, tweeting this, complete with a punctuation sad face: “The sadness you feel when Kristin Chenoweth gets a haircut and you realize you don’t matching (sic) hairstyles anymore.” Pamela Anderson Through the years , full-bodied hair has remained blond Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson’s most signature asset … after her, well, full-bodied body.

But when we saw the 46-year-old recently photographed with a cropped hairstyle (see pic.twitter.com/ gCSGHPmo5w), we almost didn’t recognize her.

Anderson traded her usual buxom bombshell garb for a simple striped dress down to the knee, covered with a demure white sweater and ballet flats. Oh, yeah, and she had short hair too. Honestly, we were so shocked by the modest attire, we barely noticed the ’do.

Which is why Pamela is not winning our pixie competition. And we can’t be sure Jennifer’s short hair is jen-uine just yet.

Therefore our pixie winner is: Chenoweth.

Her prize? A bunch of candy Pixy Stix!
