Andrews still carrying beef with McNabb

- Compiled by Troy Schulte

Shawn Andrews (Camden Fairview) stopped short of calling Donovan McNabb a bully, but in a recent radio interview the former Arkansas offensive lineman made it clear he didn’t enjoy playing with the quarterback in Philadelphia.

Andrews was on WPEN-FM in Philadelphia on Friday to address the ongoing Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin story. He was asked about locker room decorum and if he was ever the target of bullying. He declined to place that label on McNabb, but said “I know what Jonathan Martin is going through.”

Andrews missed the first 17 days of training camp with the Eagles in 2008 while seeking help for depression.

“I won’t consider McNabb a bully,” Andrews said. “If you put your heart and everything that comes with you on the line for another person and they’re saying very, very, very untrue things about you to other guys, how would that make you feel?”

Andrews, who has been out of the NFL since 2010, said he enjoyed playing for then-Coach Andy Reid and learned to trust safety Brian Dawkins, but few others.

He said he spoke to Dawkins about his treatment and even asked Reid for a trade.

“I came to Philly with a open mind,” he said. “Some guys were not receiving. When the cameras were rolling it’s like ‘We’re a team, we’re a team, we’re a team.’ When they’re off it’s like ‘Screw you, screw you.’ The only guy I could flat out trust was Brain Dawkins.”

What would he say the next time he saw McNabb?

“I would say everything,” he said. “I am disgusted.”
