Bundles of joy born in the WCMC New Life Center

-

SEARCY — On Dec. 3, New Life Center nurses at White County Medical Center celebrated the births of 12 babies in the first three days of the month. As a gift to the new parents, the WCMC Auxiliary presented the babies with Christmas caps.

Babies are delivered daily at the New Life Center, with December being the busiest month of the year with an average of 120 babies born during the month, compared to an average of 108 babies born each month from January through November.

With nearly 1,200 babies born in the WCMC New Life Center annually, the White County Medical Foundation recently announced the Miracles Happen Every Day campaign to raise funds that will benefit the New Life Center.

“New life is cause for celebration, and we are grateful for the support from our White County Medical Center family,” said Cassandra Feltrop, executive director of the White County Medical Foundation. “We are truly blessed to have this support to be able to continue bringing quality patient care and advancements in health care to our patients. Now we are excited for the community to join us in these wonderful developments that will benefit mothers and babies, as well as their families, in our New Life Center.”

Funds given to the foundation will help purchase an advanced fetal monitoring system; state-of-the-art nursery equipment; a new triage area with four spaces for patients; an upgraded infant security system; the renovation of six patient rooms into labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites; and new flooring throughout the New Life Center.

Renovations to patient suites will include more amenities to help patients and their families feel at home. Updates will include big-screen televisions, more seating for families, showers and sofas that fold out for sleeping in all suites; a custom built-in surface area with storage; and new rocking chairs.

Any business that wants to support the White County Medical Foundation in providing advanced health care technologies and renovations for the New Life Center may contact the foundation office at (501) 278-3191 or foundation@ wcmc.org.
