Dr. Lalit Verma, head of Biological and Agricultural Engineering for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, was recently honored for his leadership by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers with the organization’s James R. and Karen A. Gilley Academic Leadership Award.

The American SpeechLanguage-Hearing Association has honored Dr. Patti Martin, an audiologist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, as a Media Champion for her varied contributions to raising public awareness, including her work on infant sleep sound machines and potential hearing damage and newborn hearing screening.
