Wedding and anniversary policy

ENGAGEMENTS — The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette publishes engagement announcements without photographs. The announcement must be submitted at least eight weeks before the wedding and two weeks before you wish it to be in the paper.

WEDDINGS — Wedding announcements, with or without photographs, must be submitted at least 10 days before the wedding. The announcement will be published the first Sunday after the wedding on a space-available basis. Engagement and wedding announcements are printed on Sundays only.

FEATURED WEDDINGS — If you have family in Pulaski County and wish to be considered for a High Profile feature story, a completed engagement form must be submitted at least eight weeks before the wedding.

ANNIVERSARIES — We prefer that information for 50th and later anniversary announcements be submitted on a form. Information should be submitted at least two weeks before the desired publication date.

FEES — There is no charge for printing a wedding, engagement or anniversary announcement with a photograph in the Democrat-Gazette. The publishing of the announcement is subject to the material meeting the deadlines as well as available space and the judgment of the Democrat-Gazette.

FORMS — Information for an engagement, wedding or anniversary announcement should be submitted on a form that will be mailed or faxed if you call the wedding editor at (501) 378-3496 or write to P.O. Box 2221, Little Rock, Ark. 72203.

PHOTOGRAPHS — A professional-quality photograph or high-resolution digital image is required. Snapshots or soft-focus pictures are not accepted. The photo must be a formal portrait.

Digital photos are preferred and can be submitted by email to weddings@arkansasonline.com. Digital images must be jpeg format with at least 200 dots per inch, and the file size should be 7 to 8 megabytes.

Printed photographs should be at least 5-by-7 inches and can be dropped off at the newspaper or mailed to the Wedding Editor. Photos accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope will be returned, or with prior arrangements, photos may be picked up at the Information desk after publication. Photos are kept on file 90 days.

A photo license agreement must be completed and signed before publication of any photograph.

Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The department is closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
