Rebel outfit to get Civil War marker

A marker to commemorate the Confederate 11th Arkansas Infantry has been approved for a site in Saline County by the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, Chairman Tom Dupree announced.

The Civil War Sesquicentennial Historical Marker will be at the Glidewell-Leech Cemetery in Benton. The marker is sponsored by the David O. Dodd Camp 619, Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Local sponsoring partners work through the commission to tell stories of how the Civil War affected communities throughout Arkansas.
