Work to end bullying

-

Bullying has been a very popular topic lately. The kids committing suicide, harming themselves and not coming to school are increasing each day. This problem needs to be recognized. This issue has led to fights, arguments, and gangs. Looking around, seeing these helpless kids being treated like they’re worthless—it’s depressing.

Bullying is a kid’s worst nightmare. Most kids don’t even know the real meaning of bullying, doing or saying things to have power over another person. I think when people say mean things about you and bully you it means you’re higher than them and they’re just trying to bring you down.

I think bullying could be stopped if people actually sat down and listened to the kids being bullied. There are so many adults that don’t do anything about this situation. The adult opinion I’ve heard a lot is ignore it and everything will be OK. If you take a moment to sit back and look at it from your point of view, then you’ll see whenever you tried to tell someone about your issues, they told you the same thing.

We could work together and reduce the increase in suicide and students harming themselves, and see more students in school. You would be surprised that doing so little can bring so much joy to others. The students being bullied would appreciate not dreading going to school for one day. So if we work together, we could make a change. OLIVIA M. OSWALT Benton
