Bowen was deserving
What a week it has been. The Razorbacks ended their SEC drought in defining fashion and John Brummett wrote a column I actually read to conclusion without coming down with a severe case of dyspepsia.
Brummett’s paean to Bill Bowen was deserved in all aspects. I had the privilege of serving in a Navy capacity with Bill for a short time, but long enough to provide me with the lasting impression of a consummate Southern gentleman. He likely had the greatest social skills of any man I have come across in my eight decades.
Had he chosen politics in lieu of his other myriad accomplishments, the sky wouldn’t have been the limit. JAMES H. BARRÉ Little Rock
