ASUB notes Community Colleges Work$ Week

BEEBE — Arkansas State University-Beebe will participat­e in the Arkansas Community Colleges-sponsored Community College Work$ Week.

Gov. Mike Beebe has proclaimed observance of Community College Work$ Week to be held at member community colleges across Arkansas during the first week of December.

“Community College Work$ Week promotes community colleges in Arkansas by increasing public awareness of each college’s mission and vital role in meeting local economic developmen­t and workforce needs,” Beebe said. “The labor force that Arkansas wishes to provide in the global market is a highly educated, highly trained and highly skilled labor force, able to compete effectivel­y for jobs.”

Community College Work$ Week events will be held at the following ASU-Beebe campuses:

• ASU-Beebe at 9 a.m. Monday in the Walmart/Regions Room at the Student Center, 610 N. Pecan St.;

• ASU-Searcy at 2 p.m. Monday in Room 114 of the Student Center at the Main Building, 1800 E. Moore St.; and

• ASU-Heber Springs at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Entergy Room at the Student Services and Administra­tion Building, 101 River Crest.
