Family band, ‘world’ concert top entertainment calendar
The Annie Moses Band — Annie Wolaver Dupre, violin and vocals; William Alexander Wolaver, viola; Benjamin Wolaver, cello; Camille Rose Wolaver, harp; Gretchen Wolaver, violin and mandolin; and Jeremiah Wolaver, acoustic and electric guitar — performs at 7 p.m. Monday at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, 1600 S. World Christmas
Forum Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, an eight-member string ensemble on international tour from Krakow, Poland, will offer “Christmas Around the World,” with the Arkansas Northeastern College Chamber Singers at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ritz Civic Center, 306 W. Main St., Blytheville.
The program will include the Concerto in d minor for two oboes and strings (with soloists Dan Ross and Katie Bowden) and the “Winter” concerto from The Four Seasons (with violin soloist Sarah Jones-Hayes) by Antonio Vivaldi; and arrangements of carols from Poland, Spain and England. Windy concert
The University of Central Arkansas Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall, UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway.
The UCA Symphonic Band will play Music for Winds and Percussion by Elliot Del Borgo, Country Band March by Charles Ives, Hands Up! by Andrew Boysen and Florentiner March, “Grande Marcia Italiana,” by Julius Fucik. Brantley Douglas and graduate student Mary Light will conduct.
The UCA Wind Ensemble will perform music composed by UCA alumni, including Chaconne by Dan Brittan and Mothership by Mason Bates, plus Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger and Hector Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture.

Candles and carols

Movie auditions
The producers of a musical-comedy film, The 89th Key, will hold open casting calls for adult actors, 6:308:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m.2:30 p.m. Saturday in Room 123, Stanley Russ Hall, University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway, and a by-appointment call, 1-4:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the East Room, Central Arkansas Library System Main Library, 100 Rock St., Little Rock.
The film is set in an early 1940s nightclub. Parts are available for four principal characters (two men in their 20s-40s, two women in their 20s-30s) and two male band members, ages early 20s-late 40s. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script; for the Little Rock audition, also prepare 16-32 bars in the style of the period (standards, American songbook, etc.) and supply sheet music for the accompanist.
