6 JINGLE BELL RUN/WALK FOR ARTHRITIS

The 23rd annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning at the Clinton Presidenti­al Library in Little Rock. This nationwide signature event of the Arthritis Foundation celebrates those battling arthritis while simultaneo­usly raising funds and awareness of the disease. $5 5K/10K/25K

Early December is a beautiful time of year for a long trail run in southeast Arkansas. With that in mind, the $5 5K/10K/25K will be held at 9 a.m. at Star City’s Cane Creek State Park. The works and achievemen­ts of art and fashion enthusiast­s will be honored with an awards ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Metroplex Event Center in Little Rock. 9 DIABETES COOKING CLASS

St. Bernards Health and Wellness Center in Jonesboro will offer a diabetes-support cooking class from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the center, 1416 E. Matthews Ave. The class will provide informatio­n to help control diabetes, as well as healthy recipes and tips. There is no registrati­on charge, but seating is limited. Arkansas Children’s Hospital will hold its Festival of Stars from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is an opportunit­y for the community to make donations of gifts and toys that will help parents to give their children a happy holiday while they are patients at ACH. The Prescott Athletic Booster Club invites the community to show off a festive Christmas sweater and take part in a heart-healthy run/ walk as they host the Ugly Christmas Sweater Run 5K at 8 a.m. at Prescott High School. The registrati­on fee is $25. For more informatio­n, call 870-397-3266.

16 PRENATAL YOGA

White County Medical Center in Searcy will host its weekly prenatal yoga class at 6 p.m. in the hospital’s Annex Building, at the corner of Hartsfield Drive and Hawkins Street, across from the hospital’s emergency-department entrance. The class, which meets each Tuesday, is a specially designed yoga class for expectant mothers in any trimester. A doctor’s written permission is required to join the class. Little Rock’s 3 Bridges Marathon will begin at 7 a.m. at Two Rivers Park, 4468 River Mountain Road. The course, which is entirely on the Arkansas River Trail, includes a 19-mile loop to the east, then a seven-mile loop to the west. The course crosses the Big Dam Bridge, the Clinton Presidenti­al Bridge and the Two Rivers Bridge. Awards will go to the top three overall, masters and grand masters participan­ts, and to the top three males and females in five-year age groups, from 19 and under through 75-plus. The awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., with post-race activities to follow. Registrati­on is $85, and every finisher will receive a medal. 31 HEART OF HOSPICE GALA

The Arkansas Department of Health will present the Heart of Hospice New Year’s Eve Gala at 7 p.m. at the Russellvil­le Country Club. The evening will include a silent auction, hors d’oeuvers, music, a prime-rib dinner, dessert and a compliment­ary champagne toast at midnight.
