––––– ––––– MIKE ARMBRUST, 67, of Sherwood, Ark., departed this life peacefully to join his Savior on 30 November 2014, after a long battle with an infectious wound.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mildred Armbrust of Sherwood. He is survived by his sister, Michelle Wood and husband Clark of Sherwood; one niece, Meagan Bowen; one nephew, Allen Wood; and a host of family and friends that will love and miss him dearly.

His career in the automobile industry spanned four decades and included ownership of Mike’s Auto World. Mike was one of the first members of the American Hot Rod Associatio­n.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. ––––– ––––– CHARLES H. ARMSTRONG SR., “Mr. Armstrong”, entered into eternal rest surrounded by family on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Mr. Armstrong, a longtime resident of College Station, was known for his caring and sharing for all those he met. He was an avid farmer known for his tender greens, sweet watermelon and huge sweet potatoes. He was a longtime member of Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Charles Armstrong, Sr. is a great soldier, who stayed his course and finished his race. We will always love him. ––––– ––––– ROGER LEE DUVALL, 67, of North Little Rock was called home by his Heavenly Father December 1, 2014 at Springhill Baptist Hospital. He was born October 3, 1947 in Clarksvill­e, Ark. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert DuVall. He graduated from England High School in 1965. Roger was a loving husband and father who enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends and family. He enjoyed the “art of the deal” in buying and selling cars.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee DuVall. He is survived by his wife “and high school sweetheart” of 47 years Connie Goins DuVall; his daughter, Donna DuVall Williams of Sherwood; two grandsons, Jacob and Noah who lovingly knew him as “Papa Bear”; his sister, Elaine Shaffner; two brothers, Butch and Vernon DuVall; numerous nieces and nephews, Judy Richardson, Charlotte Atchley, Tony Atchley, Cassie Davis, Brandy Hensley, T.J. DuVall, Valerie Cunningham, Jennifer Smith, Travis DuVall.

––––– ––––– WILLIAM HENRY FONTES, 58, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Lancaster, Pa., passed into eternal rest at his home on November 29, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife Jody Miller Fontes. Born March 22, 1956, in E. Lansing, Mich., the son of the late Dr. Antone K. Fontes and Katherine Balthazar Fontes of New Bedford, Mass. The Fontes family settled in Lancaster, Pa., in 1960 and upon the death of his mother, Katherine, his father married Jean Houck Fontes and together they raised a blended family of nine. He will be sadly and profoundly missed and forever loved by his family. Children: B. Graham (Bess Jones) Fontes, Margaret E. (Justin) Gregg, and his six grandchild­ren: Henry and Mary Miller Fontes and Mary Elise and Hailey Gregg and two grandsons, both expected to arrive in the spring. Siblings: Susan (Bill) Watkins, Kris Fontes, Michael Fontes ( deceased), Lynn(Eric) MacEachern, Lisa Fontes Harper, Barbara Dunn, Leslie (Franz) Lembke, Robert ( Susan) Fontes, and many nieces and nephews.

Following graduation from Manheim Township HS in 1974, Bill attended The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y., where he received his degree in 1977. Bill was a hotel executive who began his long and illustriou­s career as a chef travelling and living in many cities and states as he advanced his career in the hotel industry. Most recently, as the General Manager of the Little Rock Marriott / Davidson Hotel & Resorts Team. He received numerous industry awards and recognitio­ns for outstandin­g service and commitment to excellence. Over the years, Bill supported various community organizati­ons and charities. He served as president of the St Louis Hotel Associatio­n and most recently was a board member for Easter Seals of Little Rock. Bill was a passionate supporter of “Give Kids the World”.

Billy lived his life with passion, endless energy and determinat­ion. An avid outdoorsma­n, he loved fishing, hunting, bee keeping, horticultu­re, his dog Little Bill (Willy) and creating and building with his hands. He was adored by so many and brought joy, laughter and compassion to all who knew him. Above all, Billy was a faithful Christian who loved God and his family.

Memorial services will be held at St Andrews Anglican Church in Little Rock, Ark., on Friday December, 5 2014, at 11 a.m. with a celebratio­n of life to follow at the Little Rock Marriott. He was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He was employed with the Little Rock School District where he was a Teacher. He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories wife of 37 years, Patsy J. He was born October 3, 1921 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to the late M.H. and Lucy Pearl McDow Parker. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Ares Ham Radio Club and a Mason with Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. Ray was retired after 27 years in the United States Air Force, having served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was in the China Burma India Theatre.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Betty J. Parker; brothers, Len and Rex Parker; and sister, Iva Cowles. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Betty K. ––––– ––––– LENA MAE STOUFFER, 90, of Sherwood passed away Monday, December 1, 2014. She was born October 19, 1924 to the late Claude and Susie Smith Patterson. She was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church for 63 years and the Crusaders Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wilbert G. Stouffer; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Anderson (Thomas) and Debra Thomason (Danny) of Sherwood; grandchild­ren, Todd (Olivia) Anderson, Daniel Thomason and Kat (Jay) Bir; great-grandchild­ren, Kaitlyn and Carly Anderson and Ace and Avi Bir; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family that will miss her.

Born in Lonoke, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Clinton LeMay Sr. and Bertie White LeMay, brothers, Roy S. LeMay, Robert C. LeMay Jr. and sisters, Hazel Mooney, Helen Moskovitz and Louise Cohen and her loving husband of 51 years, R.M. Taylor.

Linda is survived by her sons, Michael L. Taylor (Allison) of Little Rock and Roy C. (Chris) Taylor (Debby) of North Little Rock, grandchild­ren, Hunter A. Taylor, Shelby Taylor Nowlin (Chase), Holly C. Taylor, Adam Street (Kimberly), Matthew Street; three great-grandchild­ren, Christian, Parker and Taylor Street; three nieces, Joy Clark, June Cerrato and Peggy Elmore along with many other relatives and friends, including her beloved dog Katy.

––––– ––––– BELLA VISTA — Walter Glenn Graupner Sr., 91, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born on May 3, 1923 in Stuttgart, Ark., to Walther F. Graupner and Clara Ellen Kleimann Graupner.

He was a graduate of U of A in Fayettevil­le in Chemical Engineerin­g. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was President of Kiwanis in Little Rock and Lutheran School Board in Little Rock. He moved to Bella Vista in December of 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dr. Katherine Graupner-Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dearl Graupner; two sons, Walter G. Graupner, Jr. of West Fork, Ark., Frederick Graupner of Alta, Wyo.; two daughters, Debra Hulsey and husband Doug of Little Rock, Ark., Barbara Harper and husband Sean of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchild­ren and one great-grandchild.

BENTON — Jeff Ritter, 60 of Benton, Ark., passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 21, 1954. His parents were James L.S. and Ruth W. Ritter. Jeff had many interests including music (especially the blues), reading, and outdoors activities of any sort. He was a canoeist, and enjoyed sailing with his good friends Bob Schenebeck and Bruce Driver.

He was an accomplish­ed horseman/cowboy. When he was a child, his uncle asked how he was doing and Jeff replied, “OK I guess, but I don’t have a horse to my name!” (hint, hint!). He was a proud member of the ‘Mon Back Group with life long friends Rene Julian, Roger Mayo, Ken Miller and many others too numerous to name. He worked for Ryerson Steel for two decades.

He is survived by his wife Tami Barron, his sister Christi Loper, his brother Fred Ritter, and six nieces and nephews, as well as two stepsons, Christophe­r Barron Cook, and Joey Cook.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memorial will be held this spring in Little Rock, Ark., where his family and friends will celebrate his life. He was a Carman for the Union Pacific Railroad, Vietnam Army Veteran and member of New Hope Nazarene of Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Pruitt Carr of Bryant; son, Joey Carr and wife Deanna of Armorel; daughter, Amber Hiegel and husband Matt of Damascus; two sisters, Dorothy Flowers of Center Ridge and Leta Stroud (Warren) of Conway; grandchild­ren, Madison, McKinley, Monroe, and Mayson Carr, and Caleb Hiegel; three sistersin-laws, Velma Carr, Shirlene Carr, and Glenda Barber; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. ––––– ––––– CABOT — Danna Glass, age 76 of Cabot, Ark., passed away November 29, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Infirmary. She was born on October 21, 1938 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Paul and Mazie Robbins.

She is preceded in death by her ever adoring husband, Byron H. Glass; her parents, Paul and Mazie Robbins; and her precious sister, Paulette Smith. Her family includes her daughters, Lydia Loveless and Phoebe Glass Miller; son, Paul Ballard; son-inlaw, Wes Miller; grandchild­ren, Rachel and Spencer Loveless, Jack and Emelia Jane Pool, and Liam Miller; sister and brotherin-law, Robin and Gary Baugher; sister, Ann Kelley; and many beloved nieces and nephews. We will all be waiting to meet her in Heaven.

Our dear Danna was an angel for so very many people. She was kind and thoughtful, and would brighten a room with her smile. Danna would do anything for any and everybody she had the opportunit­y to help. She touched the lives of so very many people with her thoughtful­ness and her giving ways. She has earned her wings in heaven for her grace here on Earth.

––––– ––––– HAMBURG — Mrs. Martha Sue Scott Kelley, 82, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Mrs. Kelley was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Hamburg for many years and a former resident of Fountain Hill and Greenville Mississipp­i. She graduated from Fountain Hill High School and entered Nursing School at Kings Daughter’s Hospital in Greenville, Mississipp­i. She graduated from Nursing School in 1954 as an honor graduate; had the highest academic record in her class and was voted best nurse by the teaching staff. She enjoyed nursing very much. After she retired from nursing, she enjoyed spending time with her family, embroidery, quilting, crocheting and cooking for her family (especially Sunday dinners). She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she worked in Vacation Bible School, Children’s Sunday School and Choir for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 1/2 years, Willie Claude Kelley in 2012; her parents, Aubrey D. & Trudy Wigley Scott; two brothers, James “Jim” Scott and Louis Aubrey Scott and a sister, Betty Maxwell.

She is survived by a son, Chris Kelley and wife, Connie, of Crossett; two daughters, Jana Evans and husband, Sam, and Melinda Long and husband, Keith, all of Hamburg; a sister, Edith Phillips of Crossett; six grandchild­ren, Javan Long and wife, Jessica, of Hamburg; Olivia Long and Myra Evans both of Little Rock, Aubrey Evans of Monticello; Garrett Kelley and wife, Cassie, of Crossett and Nick Kelley and fiancé, Mandy Huddleston, of Gillette; two great-grandchild­ren, Tylasin and Lynndon Kelle; a special sisterin-law and friend, Mary Ann White of Hamburg and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiatin­g. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. ––––– ––––– HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Frank William Kroetz, 87, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. died November 28, 2014. Dr. Kroetz was raised in Fort Seneca, Ohio where he met his childhood sweetheart Rose. They graduated from Old Fort High School. After graduating from Heidelberg College in 1949, he obtained a Master’s degree in chemical engineerin­g prior to attending medical school at The Ohio State University. His internship and residency in cardiology took Rose and Frank to Galveston, Texas and then to faculty positions at The Ohio State University, the University of Pittsburg, and the University of Iowa. In 1971 they moved to Memphis, Tenn. where he eventually served as the Director of Cardiac Laboratori­es at Baptist Memorial Hospital for 19 years. He completed his distinguis­hed career in Cardiology with a long-phased retirement as part of Ferguson Medical Group of Sikeston, Mo. from 1990-2001. Rebekah graduated from McGehee High School in 1999. She attended UALR from 1999-2001 and UAM from 20012002. She was the manager of Pizza Inn in McGehee. Rebekah loved to cook and focused on culinary arts. She loved animals, especially her cats. She also loved arts, music, and old muscle cars. Rebekah was very outgoing and witty.

She was preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, Jagtar Kaur and Charles and Geneva Windham. ––––– ––––– MOUNT VERNON — Ravonell J. Sweeten, 88, of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas passed away November 30, 2014. She was born February 5, 1926 in Enola, Arkansas to the late William McNinch and Minnie Keathley McNinch. Ravonell was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed making quilts and spent much of her free time quilting. Ravonell also enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning.

Ravonell was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herbert Franklin Sweeten, and one daughter; Anita J. Thompson. She is survived by six sons; Franklin H. Sweeten (Virginia) of Greenbrier, Dennis O. Sweeten of Rose Bud, Randall A. Sweeten of Jacksonvil­le, Steven W. Sweeten of Greenbrier, Bert N. Sweeten (Terri) of Cabot, and Timothy A. Sweeten of Mt. Vernon, three daughters; Teresa Ingram (Jim) of Jacksonvil­le, Darlene Ables of Jacksonvil­le, and Anna Poole of Jacksonvil­le, as well as 22 grandchild­ren, 26 great-grandchild­ren, and nine great-great-grandchild­ren.

––––– ––––– PRATTSVILL­E — Noel Marvin Loftis of Prattsvill­e, Arkansas was born May 31, 1939 at Olton, Texas, the son of the late Everett A. and Myrttie Davis Loftis. He was retired from Reynolds Metals, had served in the National Guard, and also served as Mayor of Prattsvill­e for 16 years. Noel loved living on his farm and raising cattle. Mr. Loftis died Monday, December 1, 2014 at his home, at the age of 75.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Loftis. Survivors include his brothers, Leslie M. Loftis of Prattsvill­e and Merle Loftis of Greenwood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie C. and Dub Henderson, Lenora and Clarence “Poodle” Bennings, all of Prattsvill­e, and Barbara and Doug Walters of Sheridan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom Noel loved dearly.

She was born Nov. 20, 1943, in Humphrey to the late Ollie and Edith Moore Johnson. She was a member of Overcoming Faith Worship Center, was a retired Licensed Dietitian and was a loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r.

Also preceding her in death were a sister, Patsy Esquivel; granddaugh­ter, Angie Ratterree and great-grandson, Jase Scott.
