Trapnall Hall celebration toasts newlyweds
Newlyweds Brenda and Larry Walton, along with close friends and family, gathered at Trapnall Hall on Nov. 28 for a reception after a wedding ceremony at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. The bride, the former Brenda Scisson ( High Profile, Nov. 13, 2011), is the executive director for development at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ College of Nursing and a member of the War Memorial Stadium Commission. At 64, this is her first marriage. The groom is a retired tennis professional.
Trapnall Hall’s front porch was decorated with a variety of large lighted lanterns and the railings were entwined with garlands of smilax and roses in shades of orange, the bride’s favorite color. The same flowers were used in arrangements throughout the hall, including a massive arrangement on the buffet that also included hydrangeas, gladioli and lilies.
After cutting the wedding cake and the groom’s cake, the couple danced their first dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” performed by the Ted Ludwig Trio, which entertained throughout the reception.
Guests included the couple’s attendants, the bride’s twin sister, Linda Scisson, and the groom’s brother, Jerome Walton, along with the bride’s great-nieces, Haley and Sydney Rhein, and the groom’s granddaughters, Emma Catherine and Bailey Causey.
