Arkansas school administrators today jammed the auditorium of the Arkansas Education Association Building to hear Dr. Francis G. Cornell explain provisions of a revised plan for the distribution of state aid to local school districts. The two-part program provides for a minimum supplementary teacher salary allotment of at least $20 per pupil in average daily attendance. North Little Rock’s Burns Park did not wade across the Arkansas River and take up residence on the south shore. Baptist Medical Center did not pull up stakes from its west Little Rock location and mosey five miles east on Interstate 630. And Robinson Center still occupies its old address at Markham Street and Broadway in Little Rock. The center didn’t march five blocks south and plant itself at Sixth Street and Broadway. But not according to an error-ridden map in the latest edition of SBC Yellow Pages, which already has distributed about 426,000 books. The map appears in a special section, “Central Arkansas: Tourist & Entertainment Guide 2005,” intended to promote tourism and direct travelers to sites in Little Rock and North Little Rock. Despite the errors, 25,000 more entertainment guides with the maps have been printed for chambers of commerce.
