Dierks Bentley says there won’t be any hard feelings if childhood friend Miranda Lambert takes home the Grammy Award for best country album next week. Bentley and Lambert are both nominated in the category. Lambert won a Grammy in 2010, but Bentley is still waiting for his first win. The singers toured together and collaborated on music early in their careers, and Bentley says his feelings toward Lambert haven’t changed over the years. He says that if Lambert’s name is called on Feb. 8, he’ll be one of the first to stand up and applaud her. Bentley said, “A win for her is a win for everyone.” In other awards show news, the 39-year-old singer received seven nominations at the Academy of Country Music Awards announced last week.
Common says that despite winning a Golden Globe and earning an Oscar nomi na t i o n , he’s still looking forward to the coming Grammy Awards on Feb. 8. The rap star is nominated for two honors Sunday, including best rap album for his 10th effort, Nobody’s Smiling. “I am very grateful to get Grammy nominations,” he said in a recent interview. “It’s incredible for me. And that album is important.” Common will perform his song “Glory” from the film Selma with John Legend at the Grammys. The song is nominated for best original song at the Feb. 22 Academy Awards. He also appeared in the film. The 57th annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.
Val Kilmer confirmed Saturday that he is hospitalized and awaiting medical results, but said he has no tumor and hasn’t had surgery. In a message on his Facebook page, the 5 5 - ye a r - old Kilmer said he was in UCLA Medical Center’s intensive care for a “complication.” “We are waiting for x ray results and will stay close to my doctors advising, my family and Christian Science practitioner when all the facts are in,” he said in the Facebook post. “Then I’ll do what’s best and be back at it sooner than u can shake a gossip column at an out of work actor.” Earlier Saturday, his publicist, Liz Rosenberg, confirmed his hospitalization.
