DELAPLAINE — The Volunteer Fire Department was down but not out after a fire Tuesday afternoon destroyed its station, two trucks and other equipment. Area fire departments were too far away to arrive in time to fight the fire, but they were ready to loan Delaplaine equipment. Among the loans was a 1,000-gallon tanker and pumper and 250 feet of hose from the Knobel Fire Department and a pumper truck from the Western Greene County Fire District.

Two Little Rock-based behavioral health agencies have announced plans to consolidate administrative and management services. The boards of directors for the Centers for Youth and Families and the Little Rock Community Mental Health Center will consider further consolidation during the next 12 to 18 months. “I think it is a very positive step both for the organization and the community,” said Doug Stadter, president and chief operating officer of Centers for Youth and Families. The move will not affect staffing levels, Stadter said. The Centers for Youth and Families has been the child and adolescent affiliate of the Little Rock Community Mental Health Center for almost 20 years. Centers for Youth and Families serves children up to age 18 and their families, while Little Rock Community Mental Health Center offers a wide range of behavioral health-care services to adults and their families.
