Conway Bridal Show scheduled for Feb. 22

CONWAY — Couples getting married have a lot of decisions to make — from what florist to use to which photographer to choose — and the Conway Bridal Show is the place to find such answers.

Scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds, 2505 E. Oak St., the show is a must-attend event for brides, grooms and wedding parties, said Sheila Harrod, advertising manager of the River

Valley & Ozark Edition of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

“This show is a great resource for brides to come to see the trends and visit with vendors who can give them great ideas to help plan their big day,” Harrod said.

Approximately 65 vendors from throughout central Arkansas will showcase their items and services, she said, and couples will get a unique opportunity to meet with a mixture of businesses all in one location.

Harrod said one highlight of the event is a runway fashion show at 4 p.m., featuring wedding dresses, tuxedos, flower-girl and bridesmaid dresses, and more.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to see a variety of styles for the entire wedding party,” Harrod said. She said brides can stay after the fashion show to get a closer look at a dress that may have piqued their interest.

The show is about fun and prizes, too, she said.

Brides- and grooms-tobe, who will be given special stickers to wear to identify them as such, have a chance to walk away with prizes, Harrod said. They can register for The Ultimate Wedding Package Giveaway, valued at $4,450, which includes a wedding venue, cake, flowers and more. Any bride- or groom-to-be who registers for the wedding-package giveaway is automatically entered for a chance to win door prizes in the Spin-to-Win contest. Recipients must be present to win. Many vendors will offer prize drawings at their booths, as well.

In its 28th year, the Conway Bridal Show is the ideal place for couples to gather ideas and ask questions, whether their wedding is around the corner or far in the future, Harrod said.

Michelle Cothern, director of zoned advertising sales, said it’s a fun and helpful event, not only for brides- and grooms-to-be, “but anyone who is involved in planning the special day.”

Tickets, which are $5, will be available at the door. For more information, call Harrod at (501) 590-4075, email her at sharrod@arkansasonline.com, or go to www.arkansasbridalcommunity.com. Senior writer Tammy Keith can be reached at (501) 3270370 or tkeith@arkansasonline.com.
