Not too early to sign up for 4-H camps

FERNDALE — It may be winter outside, but it’s not too early to be thinking about spring and summer day- and overnight-4-H-camp registrati­on.

“These camps are a great way to meet 4-H’ers from across the state while participat­ing in fun and educationa­l activities,” said Creenna Bocksnick, 4-H camping coordinato­r for the Cooperativ­e Extension Service of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agricultur­e.

All camps are held at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Ferndale. Horses and horse-related activities for equine camp are held at Diamond TR Ranch near the Pulaski-Perry county lines.

Upcoming camps and registrati­on dates are as follows:

• March 23-26: Equine Spring Break Camp for 12- to 18-year-olds. Riders need to bring their own horses. Registrati­on is due March 3. The fee is $385.

• June 1-3: Equine Summer Camp for 12- to -18-year-olds. Riders need to bring their own horses. Registrati­on is due May 1. The fee is $295.

• July 6-8: Junior Camp for 9- to 12-year-olds. Registrati­on is due June 16. The fee is $170.

• July 6-8: Adventure and Challenge for 13- to 15-yearolds. Registrati­on is due June 16. The fee is $170.

• July 13-15: Junior Camp, Session II, for 9- to 12-yearolds. Registrati­on is due June 16. The fee is $170.

• July 13-15: Adventure and Challenge, Session II, for 13to 15-year-olds. Registrati­on is due June 16. The fee is $170.

• July 17-19: Cloverbud Camp for 5- to 9-year-olds. Registrati­on is due June 16. The fee is $110.

• Sept. 25-27: Forestry & Wildlife Camp for 10- to 13-year-olds. Registrati­on is Sept. 1. The fee is $145.
