PINS & NEEDLES ALTERATIONS

New Bryant shop offers custom fit

-

There is no need to be anxious when leaving your treasured garments in the experienced hands of tailor Theresa Carpenter, owner of Pins & Needles Alterations in Bryant.

Carpenter has more than 18 years of professional experience with a needle and thread. She started her career in theater as a wardrobe supervisor, then transitioned from the world of costumes to casual and formal wear, working as a seamstress and tailor at a major department store in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Arkansas.

Adding to her experience, Carpenter served for five years as alterations manager at a national bridal retailer in the area before opening Pins & Needles in February with the help of a friend, seamstress Tamekka Meadows.

“I realized there weren’t a whole lot of alterations businesses in this area, and it just seemed like a service that was definitely needed in Bryant,” Carpenter said.

The shop handles all types of alteration needs, including men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, formal attire, bridal gowns and even swimwear. Whether you’re dressing to impress or simply want to extend the life of your comfy favorites, Carpenter said, a good fit makes all the difference.

“Our main goal is to make sure people get things altered to their needs and that they are done correctly so people feel good about how they look and feel in their clothes,” she said.

Need a fix that can’t wait? “We’re doing something I’m calling ‘hems while you wait,’” Carpenter said. “It’s a little bit extra, but you can come in and give us a pair of pants and in about 10 minutes or so we’ll sew those up and you can take them that day.” 612 Office Park Drive, Suite 2 • Bryant
