Additional honors arrive for Portis

FAYETTEVILLE — SEC basketball coaches and members of the media agree Arkansas forward Bobby Portis is the conference’s top player.

Media members voted Portis as the SEC Player of the Year, it was announced Monday, a week after he won the award in a coaches’ vote.

Portis was a unanimous choice to the AP’s All-SEC first team and selected a second-team All-American by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Arkansas junior guard Michael Qualls was voted to the AP’s All-SEC second team.
