What’s at stake

The top spot in the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division. If the Bulldogs win, they could clinch the East by knocking off Kentucky and Auburn the following two weeks. If the Gators win, they would just need to beat Vanderbilt or South Carolina to get to Atlanta for the first time since 2009.

Key matchup

Georgia RB Sony Michel vs. Florida’s run defense. In his first start since Nick Chubb’s season-ending knee injury, Michel ran 26 times for 87 yards against Missouri. The Gators have been mostly solid against the run, although LSU’s Leonard Fournette gouged them for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Players to watch

Georgia: QB Greyson Lambert has been inconsistent. His biggest struggles came against Vanderbilt, Alabama and Missouri — three of the league’s better defenses. He failed to throw for 200 yards or a touchdown in those games.

Florida: RB Kelvin Taylor gashed the Dawgs for 197 yards and two TDs last season. He hasn’t been nearly as effective in conference play since. He has 456 yards rushing and seven TDs in his last seven league games, averaging 3.6 yards a carry.
