ADIB ABDULLAH, 65, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, in Little Rock. He is survived by his sister, Ottimis “Princess” Lloyd; daughter, Nikita Abdullah-Donohoo; three sons, Adib Abdullah, Rashad Abdullah and Qiyyam Isa Abdullah; niece, Cozetta (Coco) Jones; six grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.

Services entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 1851 Marshall Street, Little Rock, 501374-5025. “Providing Service of Excellence.” MARY ANN WILLS BEMBERG, born on May 11, 1929, the fifth child of Aaron Floyd and Winifred Floy Wills, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center on Bowman Road. She was Secretary/ Treasurer of Bemberg Iron Works, a position from which she retired in September 2014 after 50 years of service.

She was the very definition of perfect, unconditio­nal love and her strength, dignity and wisdom were invaluable gifts to all who knew her heart. Everyone who knew her was blessed. She had an extraordin­ary love for her family, and her life’s work was caring for others. Her amazing strength and unconditio­nal love could cure self-doubt, bruised knees and broken hearts. She always saw the best in everyone, showing those in pain that someone cared deeply for them. She motivated others to believe in themselves, have faith and trust in God, the power of prayer and love, to live their dreams, be happy and NEVER FORGET TO HAVE FUN! Strong, wise, humorous, gentle and charmed by the adventure and wonders in life… she carried the torch and was the light of our lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings, Jim, John, Jerry, Jack, Frank, Dorothy and Frances; her husband, Gordon Bemberg; her son, Gary Bemberg; and her grandson, Brad Bemberg Sr. She is survived by her son, Jeff Bemberg and his wife, Sue; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Bemberg; grandsons, Clay Bemberg (Geri Beth) and Nick Bemberg; and great-grandson, Brad Bemberg II.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Pollock, Dr. Mary Searcy, Dr. Robert Searcy, the MICU staff at St. Vincent’s Infirmary and the staff at Hospice Home Care for their loving care.

He is survived by his parents Gordon and Patricia Thompson of Jacksonvil­le, Ark.; two sisters Katina A. Jefferson of Mabelvale, Ark., and Re’za Green of Sacramento, Calif.; a dear family friend, Zsanese Williams; three brothers; Rodney, Jermaine and Quintez all of Little Rock, Ark.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. ROBERT “BOB” RUSSELL COMBEE JR. was born in Little Rock, Ark., on Jan. 16, 1937, and died on Oct. 21, 2015. He was 78 years old. Bob grew up in North Little Rock and was a 1955 graduate of North Little Rock High School. He received his degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., where he was a member of the Letterman’s Club. Bob was a retired stockbroke­r/financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in Little Rock. Prior to that he was with the investment division of Simmons First National Bank in Pine Bluff, Ark., and a member of the “Simmons Banknotes,” a musical group of Simmons bank officers that performed in the 1970’s. Bob was commission­ed an Army Second Lieutenant after completing Officers Candidate School in 1963. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Neville, his son, Russ, who died in 1987, and infant twins. He is survived by his daughter, Eve (Pete), and three grandchild­ren, Lauren, Rachael and Peter, and one sister, Barbara Wilkins.

Darla, a long term resident of Arkansas, was born in Little Rock on June 5, 1955. Darla is the firstborn daughter of Tommy and Sue Goodwin; her sister was the late Belinda Goodwin. Darla received her degree in nursing from UALR and shortly thereafter she and David Hines were married in 1979. Darla was then able to live her dream of raising a family. Not until later in life, at age 50, with children grown, she returned to nursing. She served as an RN in the operating room for eight years until she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Darla continued the great strength possessed her whole life; always determined and adaptable. Darla was deeply respected at her job and was awarded Nurse of the Year at Bethesda Hospital in 2013 and 2015.

Darla was a radiant person leaving a mark on everyone she met. She was an avid reader, lover of animals, gentle and kind hearted, and a woman of true elegance. Darla was a dedicated daughter to her parents, a loving mother, sister, and treasured friend to many.

SHIRLEY A. HUNTER was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Seaton, Ark. She gained her wings and took flight on October 27. He fought a courageous battle after being diagnosed with lung cancer and undergoing chemo and radiation. He was born Oct. 22, 1946, to George and Joan Ingram. Larry was an electricia­n and a member of the IBEW Local 295 for 50 years. He retired from Children’s Hospital in 2012. Immediatel­y after his retirement he built the pond he always wanted. He always enjoyed being outdoors on his land. He was a member of Henderson United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer with Poodle Patch Rescue Inc. Larry was an avid animal lover who donated countless hours. He loved restoring cars, especially Corvettes. He was a strong, hardworkin­g, loyal man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve and his wife Connie; and son Tim Jarrell.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty; daughters: Tammy Brewster, Mandy Clayton and husband Craig; son, Mark Ingram and wife Teresa; and nine grandchild­ren.

Graveside services will be Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Memorial Park.

JAMES JENNINGS, 60, of Little Rock, Ark., passed peacefully on Oct. 27, 2015. Dr. James Jennings was preceded in death by: his father, Mr. Enlow Jennings, and his brother, Curtis Jennings.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Lottie Williams Jennings; two daughters, Larissa Jennings and Lisa (Mark) Mack; his mother, Mrs. Loretta Jennings; two brothers, Lemuel (Patricia) and Brent (Juanita) Jennings. Dr. James Jennings was the pastor of the Church of God of Forrest City, Ark., and the Cynthia Cook Sandefur Odyssey Professor of Education and History at Hendrix College of Conway, Ark.

He was born Dec. 5, 1946, in North Little Rock to the late Darrius Lamar and Neva Schmitt Johnson. Mr. Johnson served his community as a fire fighter with the Jacksonvil­le Fire Department for 27 years, retiring as a Captain. After retirement, he worked at Homer Adkins Elementary School, where he was loved by all who knew him. Mr. Johnson was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and had hunted every year for 50 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Johnson.

APOSTLE CATHERINE MAXWELL WIMBLEY, 57, of Little Rock, Ark., transition­ed Oct. 28, 2015. She was preceded in death by father, W.C. Maxwell; brother, Carl Maxwell. She worked at BCBS for 17 years. She empowered women through her ministry “Victorious and Beautiful Women,” founded in the fall of 2009.

Bennie was best known for providing a caring atmosphere for all, especially in their time of need or celebratio­n. She enjoyed her time in the kitchen preparing meals for friends and family. Bennie always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone. Among these things, her laugh was the most unforgetta­ble. Her gracious and forgiving spirit blessed many and those who knew her well, will miss her most. She was a member of Robinson and Center Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 26 years, Don Campbell and brother, Robert Williamson.

POTTSVILLE — Wes Harris, 43, of Pottsville, Ark., passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 along with his brother, Robert Harris and sister, Julie Leferve. The son of John and Carol (Bailey) Harris, he was born March 8, 1972 in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1990 graduate of Hall High School and in 1994 received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University. He married Heather Dixon on May 29, 2004 at the Grandview Ranch. He was the Parts Manager at Valley Motors of Russellvil­le for 20 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellvil­le. Wes enjoyed many things such as the arts, playing the drums, the study of geology, and being outdoors. Some of his favorite places were the Grandview Ranch, the lake and the ocean, but his real passion was his family, especially his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, Woodrow Wilson “Dee” Bailey and Jean Wesley Bailey, Burl and Carmen Harris and uncle, Edward Harris.

SCOTT — Frank Ferraro, 64, died on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015. Frank was a master woodworker and furniture builder. Originally from New York City and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Frank moved to Scott in 1986, married and set up his business. His devotion to his work and to the perfection of his craft were the driving passions of his life.

Besides his work, Frank’s other great love was animals. In the course of his life he had several snakes, assorted lizards, cats and dogs all of whom he remembered by name, and even a pet tarantula.
