Suspect detained in hotel stabbing

Little Rock police arrested a man Friday morning in a stabbing that occurred during a hotel brawl in September.

Joshua Halbrook of Sherwood was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Friday in Sherwood and charged with first-degree battery in the Sept. 12 fight at a Comfort Inn West hotel off Markham Street.

At 2:27 a.m. Sept. 12, officers were summoned to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock where Benjamin Flowers of Shannon Hills was being treated for life-threatenin­g injuries after being stabbed in the back three times, according to reports. Police identified Halbrook as a suspect after interviewi­ng Flowers and several suspects, the report says.

Halbrook, 32, was arrested last year in an attack that critically injured a Jacksonvil­le man. He and two others were

charged with first-degree battery. Police said the three beat the man and struck him with a vehicle in an attempted robbery.

Halbrook remained in the Pulaski County jail Saturday afternoon.

Woman stabbed; man, 64, arrested

A 64-year-old Little Rock man is accused of stabbing a 54-year-old Little Rock woman early Saturday, according to a Little Rock police report.

Police arrived at the home of Otis Walker, 7201 Kentucky Ave., No. 7, just off Cantrell Road, where they reported finding the woman, who told them Walker stabbed her with a kitchen knife. Police found the knife at the scene, the report said.

Walker was charged with second-degree battery and was arrested at 1:45 a.m. He remained in the Pulaski County jail Saturday afternoon in lieu of $10,000 bond and was being held “for parole.”

The police report did not specify the woman’s injuries or her condition.

Two men charged in home burglary

Two men were arrested Friday afternoon in a residentia­l burglary in Pulaski County, according to arrest reports.

A report from the Pulaski County sheriff’s office said the two are suspected in a residentia­l burglary that occurred in the “north center part of the county,” in which several items, including laptops, were stolen. No address or date for the burglary was listed in the report.

Jeffrey Lefevre, 31, of Cabot and Matthew Bishop, 30, of Jacksonvil­le were booked into the Pulaski County jail on charges of theft of property and residentia­l burglary. Both were still listed on the jail’s roster Saturday night.
