JUSTIN GRAY ALBRIGHT’s spirit was released October 31, 2015, peacefully at his home. He was 39 years young. Justin, a native of Little Rock, had an exceptional sense of humor, whose laugh could sometimes be mistaken for a war cry in some cultures. It echoes still in the back of many kitchens, backyards and craft beer delivery vans. His best physical traits were his giant, giving smile which was known to be accompanied by a long tongue that would “aaaaaaa” at you in playfulness.

Any send-off would not be complete without mentioning his love, heart, and soulmate, Alicia, whom he considered his best friend, and her heart his prized possession. Not a man of material indulgences, he was a collector of artwork from loved ones, enjoyed Italian mafia flicks, liked to drive fast, and give good hugs. He was an enthusiastic but somewhat amateur rapper and a gifted conversationalist. He could often be found at EJ’s Eats & Drinks which he said felt like “home.”

One last but serious note, the man who loved life is now safely in the arms of his maker, and will be missed as a husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 10 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), (501) 224-2200. Justin’s online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.

From there they moved to Little Rock and Major completed Medical School at UAMS. Their first child Major Jr. was born in Little Rock in 1951. After graduation from Medical School in 1952 they made their home in Atlanta for a year of internship at Emory.

In 1953 they made their home in Dermott where they had two more children, Paula and Greg, and where Major practiced medicine for 35 years. Margaret was a mother and housewife until the children were grown and then she helped out in the clinic.

Margaret loved to play bridge and have bridge parties. She loved to sew making many of hers and her daughter’s clothes. If she had trouble putting in a zipper, Major could do it for her. She has always been an avid reader and in recent years her favorite books were Anne Rule True Crime. She was a Razorback fan and had season tickets to Little Rock games for many years.

Margaret and Major adored their two grandsons Matthew and Drew and took vacations with them and their parents every summer. They also took lots of trips with friends in Dermott and with Major’s brother Bob and sister-in-law Margaret, Major’s sister Betty Jo Chapman and their son Major, Jr. They went to New York, Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Gatlinburg, Tenn., to name a few places. The past two years she vacationed at Orange Beach with Paula, Buddy, Drew and his girlfriend Emily.

In earlier years, they enjoyed square dancing and after retirement enjoyed dances at the American Legion with friends.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Charlsie Maxine Rhodes Adams died Monday, November 2, 2015, in Brentwood, Tennessee. She was born May 13, 1922, in Speegleville, Texas, to Charles Rhodes and Mae Williams Rhodes.

Maxine lived a life marked by rich experiences and adventure. After her childhood in rural Texas, where she played the trombone in her high school band, she followed her beloved older sister, Louise, to Ruston, Louisiana, where she found work in the offices of T.L. James and Co. As one of the earliest licensed female pilots in the state, she flew people, documents, and construction materials around the region for her employers. Ruston was also where she met William Roy Adams, Jr.; they married in 1948, and remained together for 64 years, until Roy’s death in 2012. Together, Maxine and Roy lived a life full of interest. Beginning with their first home together in the oilfields of western Venezuela, they moved often. By the time they retired to the Dallas area in 1981, they had lived in many places around the world, including New York, Rome, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, London, Houston, and Bermuda. Through it all, Maxine enjoyed the company of many friends, entertained extensively and graciously, traveled widely, and developed a number of pastimes. Always athletic, her special love was for golf, which she played around the world.

Maxine and Roy had two children, Charles Hansford and Catherine Estelle. She was a wonderful mother, supporting her children with love and devotion through every stage of their lives. Her greatest joy in life came from being a mother, and she never wavered in her dedication to her children’s happiness. She is survived by Charles and his wife Rhonda, of Tampa, Florida; Catherine and her husband Peter Barton Hutt, of Aubrey, Texas, and Alexandria, Virginia; two granddaughters, Amanda Scarlett and Allison Henson, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and two great-grandchildren, Sullivan and Savannah.

Maxine was an active volunteer for many organizations, especially Meals-On-Wheels, Oak Lawn Methodist Church in Dallas, and Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Visitation will be at the Connally-Compton Funeral Home in Waco, Texas, at 8 a.m. on November 7. Burial will be at 9 a.m. the same day at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.
