MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE

-

Game of the week

Air Force at New Mexico: A week after soundly defeating preseason conference favorite Boise State and clinching the Mountain division and a spot in the Mountain West championship game, Air Force looks to avoid a letdown against New Mexico. The Lobos hope to avoid an emotional letdown themselves, as their loss to Colorado State last week kept this game from being a showdown for the division crown.

Around the Mountain West

UNLV at Wyoming: With only pride on the line, UNLV looks to avoid their third three-game losing streak of the season as they hit the road to take on Wyoming. The Cowboys are hoping to end a four-game skid of their own as they look to notch just their second win of the season.

BYU at Utah State: After bouncing back from their loss to Missouri with a win against Fresno State, BYU looks to close out the regular season with a second straight win as they hit the road to take on Utah State. The Aggies are looking for the same kind of momentum after snapping a two-game losing streak last week with a close win over Nevada.

Colorado State at Fresno State: Colorado State finds themselves bowl eligible thanks to a threegame winning streak, including last week’s win over a New Mexico squad making a push for the Mountain division crown. The Rams hope to keep that momentum rolling into bowl season as they close out regular season play at Fresno State. The Bulldogs look to close out the season on a positive note after dropping eight out of ten games since their opening night victory.

Nevada at San Diego State: Already bowl eligible, Nevada looks to play the spoiler role in their regular season finale, as they head to California to play San Diego State. The Aztecs have a reasonable chance to sneak into a New Year’s bowl with some help elsewhere in the country, but those hopes would likely die off with a loss to the Wolf Pack in their regular season finale.

Louisiana-Monroe at Hawaii: After finishing the season winless in conference play, Hawaii closes out the regular season hoping to snap a nine-game losing streak. The Rainbow Warriors hope being at home is the answer as their only two wins this season have come on their own turf.
