Florida’s chances of making the College Football Playoff. The Gators are 12th in the CFP rankings and need to beat Florida State and win the Southeaste­rn Conference championsh­ip game next week to have a shot at cracking the top four.

Key matchup

Florida State RB Dalvin Cook vs Florida’s stout defense. The school’s single-season rushing leader, Cook has 1,475 yards on the ground and is averaging 147.5 yards a game. LSU’s Leonard Fournette gashed the Gators on the ground for 180 yards, so they see this as a chance at redemption.

Players to watch

Florida State: Junior CB Jalen Ramsey, who makes plays almost every week. He has 39 tackles, including two for loss, 10 pass breakups and a 36-yard scoop-and-score touchdown against Boston College.

Florida: Senior DT Jon Bullard, who has played through knee and arm injuries this season, has 53 tackles, including 13 ½ for loss, and 5 ½ sacks this season. He has started 23 consecutiv­e games.
