Haters need not apply
As hinted at by Voices Page editor Brenda Looper, there are online comments from this paper’s website that will likely curl your eyebrows and raise your toes when you read them. It is overflowing with uninhibited comments, pugnacious opinions, and take-no-prisoners prose. One can easily imagine these disturbed beings bouncing off the padded walls in their cells as they passionately berate each other via their computer links.
On behalf of one of my online antagonists, whose cell is better padded than mine and who was concerned with Republicans being slandered by such “pejorative” terms as racists, bigots, homophobes, etc., etc., etc., I wish to perform a public service for his party of choice.
If you are a racist, a bigot, a homophobe, a fascist, a phony Christian or a Bible-thumping Pharisee, sexist, or just plain stupid, the Republican Party does not want you as one of its members. The words of Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper so clearly describe the problem for the GOP: “A foreign substance [has been] introduced into our precious bodily fluids.”
My online Republican debaters are seemingly aghast that their party has been diluted by such riffraff. How often they rail against such descriptions makes me sure that they despise them as much as I. Therefore, I stand beside them in their efforts to rid themselves of such supercilious and self-righteous charlatans. It’s not rocket surgery, you know.
In the heartfelt words of Ron Reagan, the son of the sainted Republican icon, Ronald Reagan: “I couldn’t join a party that, frankly, tolerates members who are bigots for one thing, homophobes, racists.” J.K. TIDMORE
