AG sues Jacksonville car dealer over titles

- — David Smith

The Arkansas attorney general’s office has sued Miracle Motors Corp. of Jacksonville and its owners, claiming the company failed to provide titles on used vehicles it sold.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Pulaski County circuit court, claimed that Miracle Motors failed to deliver titles in a timely manner. Consumers believed that there were no restrictions or obstacles preventing them from ownership of the vehicle, the lawsuit said.

There have been 15 instances in which Miracle Motors failed to provide a title at the time of the sale, the attorney general’s office said.

Leslie Rutledge, the state’s attorney general, is asking the court to impose civil penalties, restitution for the affected consumers, attorneys’ fees, costs and other relief against Miracle Motors.

Consumers with concerns about their business with Miracle Motors are urged to call the attorney general’s consumer protection hotline at (800) 482-8982.
