Organ premieres

Jason A. Pennington, organist at North Little Rock’s St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, will premiere the three neo-Baroque Dance Suites by the late Dr. Steven Kemp in a memorial concert, titled “Prisms,” 7 p.m. Friday at the church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock. The program, part of the church’s St. Luke’s Festival of the Senses series, will also include works by J.S. Bach, Max Reger and Dietrich Buxtehude. Proceeds from a silent auction of an original artwork by Suzette Patterson will benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Admission is free; donations to Children’s Hospital will be accepted. Visiting jazzmen

Musicians from the Monterey Jazz Festival — Raul Midon on guitar and vocals; Ravi Coltrane on tenor and soprano saxophones; Nicholas Payton on trumpet; musical director Gerald Clayton on piano; Joe Sanders on bass; and Gregory Hutchinson on drums — will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, at the Donald W. Jeremy Matthey plays a young astronaut who learns it takes math, science, physical stamina, mental perseveran­ce and, of course, a dream to succeed in Apollo to the Moon by Mary Hall Surface, an Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre touring show, onstage at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ritz Civic Center, 306 W.
