Head of libraries to speak at lunch

Bobby Roberts, who will soon retire as head of the Central Arkansas Library System, will be the speaker Wednesday at a Legacies and Lunch event.

Roberts has been director of the library system since 1989. He will retire Friday.

At the event, Clinton School of Public Service Dean Skip Rutherford will interview Roberts about his interest in history and politics, the transforma­tion of CALS and what he sees for the future of the library system, the city of Little Rock and the state.

The event is from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., in downtown Little Rock. It is co-hosted by the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies and the Clinton School of Public Service and sponsored in part by the Arkansas Humanities Council.
