Pulaski Robinson athlete Koilan Jackson felt at home in Fayetteville.

After numerous visits to the Arkansas campus over the past few years, he orally committed to the Razorbacks on Friday.

“I feel like it’s the way to go,” Jackson said. “I’m already comfortable with everyone on the staff. I’ve been going to Razorback camps since I was in the ninth grade, so I’ve met the staff over and over again. “

Jackson, 6-3, 210 pounds, 4.52 seconds in the 40yard dash, chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Illinois, Memphis, Louisiana-Monroe and Army while drawing interest from Alabama, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, Houston and others.

He played quarterback this past season at Little Rock Parkview and had 3,000 yards of total offense and 38 touchdowns before transferring to Robinson at the semester. He’ll play receiver for the Hogs.

His father, Keith, was an All-American tight end at Oklahoma and played nine season with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. One Koilan’s brothers, Keith Jackson Jr., lettered at Arkansas on the defensive line from 2003-2006 while another brother, Kenyon Jackson, a defensive lineman, signed with Illinois in February.

His relationships with tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. and receivers coach Michael Smith are strong.

“I’ve known coach Lunney since the ninth grade and coach Smith, and they’re all friends with my dad,” Jackson said.

Lunney, who recruits in-state prospects, kept Jackson informed about the happenings in Fayetteville.

“Every summer he was the one that always told me about what was going on up on the hill, and when I got up there he was the one that showed the most love back in the ninth and 10th grade,” Jackson said.

Jackson is Arkansas’ ninth commitment for the Class of 2017. Oral commitments are nonbinding.
