GOLF Eoff misses U.S. Amateur cut Austin Eoff of Benton bogeyed the final hole at the Oakland Hills North Course and missed the cut to get into a playoff by a stroke Tuesday at the U.S. Amateur in Bloomfield, Mich.

Eoff made birdie at the previous hole, the par-4, 17th to get to the 2-over cut line, but a bogey at the par-4, 18th eliminated him from match play. Eoff had a 2-over 72 Monday to go with his 1-over 71 Tuesday at the South Course.

Arkansas State junior Andrew Huseman finished 30th and will advance to the match play portion after shooting a 170. Huseman shot a 69 in the first round Monday and followed with a 71 in the second round Tuesday. He will place Australia’s Curtis Luck at 9:30 a.m. today

MOTOR SPORTS Rain forces cancellation of Topless 100 The 24th annual Comp Cams Topless 100, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, has been canceled because of heavy rain in the area this week.

With the facility already heavily saturated and continued rain forecast for the rest of the week, officials with the track and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series made the decision Tuesday. It’s the first time the event has been rained out.

“We have had over 6 inches of rain over the past three days, and the forecast shows more rain throughout the week,” track owner Mooney Starr said. “We feel that it is best to make this decision early for the benefit of our racers and fans.”

Lucas Oil officials said without a suitable weekend for a makeup date on the series schedule, the $40,000-to-win event will not be rescheduled.

Anyone who has purchased advance tickets can receive a refund by calling the track office at (870) 251-0011 beginning today at 10 a.m.
