Two people were killed in traffic crashes Monday, according to reports from the Arkansas State Police.

A 23-year-old woman was killed when she was thrown from her car in a crash and was then pinned under it after it rolled multiple times, authorities said.

It happened after 5:30 p.m. on Arkansas 365 in Faulkner County.

Whitney Anne Arrington was driving a 1998 Honda Accord south behind a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant that slowed to turn left into a driveway, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The Accord began to pass the Galant but instead hit it, causing the Accord to veer out of control and flip multiple times, the report said. Arrington was thrown out and pinned under her vehicle, police said.

Police noted in the report that the accident happened in a no-passing zone. Conditions at the time were said to be rainy and wet.

The driver of the Galant was not hurt.

One person was killed and three others hurt when a tractor-trailer crossed the centerline and hit four other vehicles, authorities said.

The crash happened early Monday in foggy conditions along Arkansas 7 near Arkansas 155 south of Dardanelle in Yell County, according to a state police report.

The 1998 Freightliner was traveling south on Arkansas 7 before 6:30 a.m. when it drove left of center and hit the driver’s side of a northbound Ford Focus, the report said.

The truck then overturned, hitting a GMC pickup in the driver’s side and crashing head-on into a northbound Ford F-250 and a northbound Dodge Ram, police said.

The driver of the F-250, Larry Ellis, 53, of Plainview, was killed. The Freightliner’s driver along, with the drivers of the Dodge Ram and the GMC pickup all were injured, though the report didn’t detail the extent of their injuries. At least one of the injured drivers was taken to River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.
