ALEXANDER — Joyce Annette Lowe, 59, of Alexander was born on May 31, 1957, and passed away on December 6, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lorene Harrison. She is survived by her caring and supportive husband, Moki Lowe; her daughters, Amy (Rob) Hartsell, Jennifer (John) Wortman, Liz (Kit) Curlin, and Emily Lowe; her sisters, Alice (Gerald) Ritter and Kathy (Gil) Blais; and her brother Gordon (Doris) Harrison. She also has five grandchild­ren: Calyan, Carter, Sophie, Decker, and Max.

Joyce dedicated her life to her Lord, her husband, children and grandchild­ren. She was a gifted pianist who loved music, especially Christian music. She worked for the Baptist Trumpet for several years where her meticulous organizati­on skills were cherished.

–––––❖––––– ARKADELPHI­A — John Parnell Faust, 67, of Arkadelphi­a, Ark., died December 6, 2016. He was born May 25, 1949, in Syracuse, New York, to Alfred Ray and Muriel Parnell Faust. John graduated from Wichita State University with a BA and Masters in Education before accepting a position with Henderson State University in residence life. After sixteen years in several positions with HSU John was hired by Follett Corporatio­n to manage the HSU bookstore until his retirement in 2010.

John was a loving husband who enjoyed sailing, was an avid woodworker and wood carver, a reader, an overall general handyman and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a past member and president of Arkadelphi­a Civitan, and had been active in the Southwest College Bookstore Associatio­n.

John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Rae (Peggy) Hoegler. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 40 years Vickie Faust; his brother Don Faust, Marquette, Michigan; numerous nephews and nieces; and his sisters-inlaw, Terry Feaster (Pam) and Debra Shepard.

–––––❖––––– BENTON — Ava Jane Stevens, born on February 18, 1940, in Little Rock, Ark., passed away on December 5, 2016. Ava spent her childhood in Tull and Benton. She graduated from Benton High School and, as a teenager, worked in downtown Benton at her father’s Courthouse Cafe. After rearing five children, she graduated from UALR earning a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and later a master’s degree in gerontolog­y. Although she had a love for primitive American antiques and painting, her life’s main focus was her children, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren. Ava’s family will miss her terribly.

She is predecease­d by her parents, Clyde Lee Snodgrass and Maurice Ethel Burrow, and her sister, Clydean Benedict. She is survived by her five children, Tracie Schmidt, Leslie Travis, Craig Stevens, Teresa Stevens, and Courtney Butler; her siblings ….. Stanley worked in the maintenanc­e department at Hormel Food “Skippy”. He was an avid singer and

loved the outdoors. He was a member of the National Chuck Wagon associatio­n. His love for his family was known by all. He was loved as a husband, respected as a brother, son and honored as a father and grandfathe­r.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Audis and Barbara Tindall; and a sister, Sherry Litton. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jeannie Tindall; three sons, Dustin Hampton, Dustin Tindall, Jay Tumbleson; three daughters, DeAnna Fryer, Angie Rains, Amanda Mosby; one sister, Judy Nargi; one brother, Phillip Tindall; seven grandchild­ren, Timothy Mosby Jr., Mason Mosby, Carter Mosby, Jacob Rains, Madison Rains, Emma Rains, Samuel Rains; three great-grandchild­ren, Kenlee Robinson, Kiley Tumbleson, Kaidyn Tumbleson; numerous nieces and nephews.

–––––❖––––– CONWAY — Jerry Lane White, 71, of Conway, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born July 14, 1945, in Searcy, a son of James Blaine “J.B.” White and Angie Mae (Hunter) White. He worked as Constructi­on Manager for The Southern Company in NLR. He also served as SSgt in the United States Air Force. While on active duty he was a member of the Air Force reconnaiss­ance team for the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing and the Apollo 12 and 13 missions. He was a board member of the Pine Village Fire Department in Conway. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 37 years, Brenda Susan White; son, Jeffrey Lane White (Connie) of Conway, daughter, Heather Nixon of Conway and daughter, Melissa Messner (Scott) of Titusville, Fla.; five grandchild­ren: Madyson and Hannah of Titusville, Fla. and Callie, Frances, and Jarrett of Conway; his mother, Angie White, 90, of Conway; three brothers: James M. “Jim” White (D’Wanda) of Greenbrier, Vestis J. –––––❖––––– DERMOTT — Carrol “Bub” Jackson, age 88, of Dermott died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at McGehee Hospital. Bub was born July 27, 1928, in Crossett, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Jim Jackson and Adell Towles Jackson.

He was Man of the Year in Dermott in 1985, Bub was the Dermott City Street, Sewer and Water Commission­er for over 25 plus years, a member of the State of Arkansas Waterworks and Pollution Control Board. He was also president of the Dermott Lions Club, zone chairman, and deputy district governor with perfect attendance for over 25 years, he served as a member of Dermott Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, a member of the Fireman’s Pension Fund Board, served as an ambulance driver for the City for the Dermott-Chicot Memorial Hospital; a member and Sunday School Teacher for Dermott Baptist Church; bus driver for sporting events for Montrose Academy,

also coached T-Ball, and was past president of Dermott Rams Booster Associatio­n.

Preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Coy and Carie Jackson, and two sisters, Freda Matthews and Orlanda Risher. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean (Copeland) Jackson of Dermott; two daughters, Carole Jean Harper of Hot Springs, and Jill Jackson of Dermott, two grandchild­ren, Heath Harper (Brooke), and Heather Harper; three great-grandchild­ren, Finch, Ellis, and Hayes Harper; and a host friends.

–––––❖––––– ENGLAND — Phillip Leo Brazeal, 58, of England, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord December 6, 2016. He was born in McClung Community, Arkansas, March 15, 1958, to Lester Leo Brazeal and Polly JoAnn Brazeal.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Phillip Joseph Brazeal; a sister: Lisa Brazeal. Phillip is survived by one sister: Carmen Brazeal of England, Arkansas; two brothers: Terry Brazeal (Donna) of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Vernon Brazeal (Sherri) of England, Arkansas; and a step-mother: Linda Jowers. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, his family and his dogs. Phillip worked 13 years at Kroger Company and prior to that worked at Foster Drilling.

–––––❖––––– PINE BLUFF — John C. Daniels, 100, known by his family as “Jake”, died Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016 at his home in Pine Bluff. Born August 24, 1916 he was the oldest son of Oscar and Nellie Burdine Daniels.

He served in WWII in the First Armored Division, 13th Armored Regiment, H Company as a halftrack driver for the towed artillery squad. He crossed the Atlantic on the HMS Queen Mary. He was onboard the HMS Tasajera, a Venezuelan tanker converted to one of the first tanker landing ships (LTSs) when it was torpedoed off the coast of Algeria. On February 2, 1943 he was wounded while participat­ing in the initial attack on a rail station in the town of Sidi Bou Zid, Tunisia. A Stuka ju-87 “Junker” dive bomber released its bomb directly above the half-track killing 7 of the 9 soldiers instantly. He received the Silver Star for attempting to rescue a wounded soldier while wounded himself and while still under heavy fire. After recovering in a hospital in Oran, he would later participat­e in the Italian campaign and be witness to the bombing of the Abbey of Monte Cassino, the breakout at Anzio and the liberation of Rome. He was member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 706 before his retirement and was an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by wife, Geneva Taylor Daniels; daughter, Geneva Johnnetta; three brothers, Horace, Ferman, Henry; sister Pauline Daniels Taylor. He is survived by his son, David Allen Daniels (Shirley); two grandsons, David G. Daniels (Barbara), Dallas, Texas, John A. Daniels (Barbara) Rowlett, Texas; one great-grandson and three great-granddaugh­ters.

––––– ––––– SEARCY — Frances Marie Vest, 95, of Searcy passed away Tuesday, December 6th at Unity Health in Searcy. She was born October 19, 1921 to the late Jack and Lilmae Duncan in Jacksonvil­le, Arkansas. Marie was an outstandin­g mom who always put her children before herself. She was a very strong, hardworkin­g, courageous lady who never complained about anything. She lived a great life. Marie was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, great-great-grandmothe­r and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her three sons, Jerry L. Lang (Geneva) of Sardis, Mississipp­i, Robert F. Vest of Judsonia, Arkansas, and Ronald Vest (Tracy) of Kensett, Arkansas; one daughter, Joyce Schmidth (John) of Judsonia, Arkansas; two sisters, Lilmae Davis of Little Rock, and Helen Silverblat­t of Florida; 11 grandchild­ren, nine great-grandchild­ren, and eight great-great-grandchild­ren.

JACKSONVIL­LE BEACH, Fla. — John Michael “Mike” Wallis met his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 after suffering complicati­ons from recently diagnosed lymphoma. He was born on October 10, 1961, in Memphis, Tenn., to Jack B. and Lois Wallis.

Survivors include his parents, his wife, Annette, their children Andrew and Kristen, his sister Debbie Brown (Terry), his nephew, Michael Brown (Nicole), his niece, Karen Sweat (Ryan) and his great-nephew, Jackson Brown.

Mike was a 1979 graduate of Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le in 1984. Mike loved the Razorbacks and looked forward to annual trips to the games with his Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity Brothers.

Mike spent his career as an executive in the data and insurance industries in Arkansas, Georgia, New Jersey and recently Florida. He was a great mentor and friend to his colleagues. Mike enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing and surfing. He loved a variety of music and playing his guitar. Mike loved the Lord. He was an awesome dad and devoted husband, son and brother.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Beach Church, 325 7th Ave. N, Jacksonvil­le Beach, Fla. 32250.
