Scholarships awarded to ASU-Beebe students
BEEBE — Several students were awarded John Deere Agriculture Equipment Technology scholarships to attend Arkansas State University-Beebe. Funding for the scholarships was provided by the John Deere Co. through the John Deere College Partnership Managers Office.
Koy Williams of Springfield has been awarded the Outstanding John Deere Ag Tech Scholarship for $1,000. This scholarship is awarded in the spring semester of the sophomore year to the student with the highest overall gradepoint average over 3.0 and the highest GPA in the John Deere courses. Sponsored by Maus Implement of Morrilton, Williams has a GPA of 4.0.
Recipients of the John Deere Ag Tech $500 scholarships, based on an overall GPA of 3.0, are Derrek Nunally of Black Rock; Brandon Hoggard of Piggott; Ryan Quinn of Jonesboro; and Zachary Midkiff of Dexter, Missouri. These students are sponsored by Greenway Dealership.
Other recipients of the $500 scholarships include Jason Milton of Dover, Tennessee, sponsored by Tennessee Tractor Dealership; and Jareth Walker of Star City, sponsored by Arkansas AG of Dumas.
The John Deere Ag Tech program is a regional program and is one of 21 John Deere Technology cooperative partnerships in North America. Students in the John Deere Ag Tech program learn to repair agricultural equipment with courses in various components of the machinery, such as diesel engines, electrical systems, power trains and hydraulics.
